  • le tissier's accuracy and skill were retarded!!!! by far the most amazing control i've ever seen

  • So happy I got to enjoy the Le-Tiss generation at The Dell throughout the 90's....Sadly though, I expect we will never see this type of player again on the professional football field.

    NATURAL TALENT!

  • I would have loved to have see him at a top club surrounded by top players,he always scored

beautiful goals but from memory he had a reputation of being a lazy player when the

the ball was not around him, still it would have been nice if he was given the role Sheringham got to supply and create for Shearer.

  • no disrespect to southampton but if he had been at a team like united he would have been recognised as one of the best finishers the world has ever seen, but on the other hand he would have been hated as a manc cunt.great finisher, great guy and loyal to his club.a true legend

  • faq! q ganas de regresar a jugar!... ya mimo, ya mimo! 2 meses!

  • Am i the only one who thinks his "TECHNIQUE" for an English player was "SUPERB!?"

  • If I never watched another football match again, the fact I was privileged to be watching Matt le Tissier in his prime would be fine by me.

  • Cracking player, a gifted footballer. Loyal to HIS football club like the Great Alan Shearer was to Newcastle United.

  • its a shame he couldnt play for a quality team such as arsenal

  • LOL, I dont think he would have fitted in with George Graham's plans!!! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • @phantoms93 It's wankers like you that spoil football nowadays, if Arsenal are so quality, why haven't you won anything for 6 years?

  • Criminal that he only played for England 8 times.

  • As far as I know he even scored on 48 of 49 penalties. And, as a german, I have to thank which ever national team's headcoach who did not let him play 1990 and 1996. This guy is probably the greatest player england ever had.

    Chapeau!

  • totaly agree, trouble is both England managers at the time didn,t like him Hoddle because he didn,t sign for him for chelsea and terry vegtables because he didn,t sign for him at spurs, A great great lose for England

  • it wouldnt have made you fo any worse, he was a great player.

  • he had a drink problem?? evidence....???

  • best penalty taker as well, scored about 45 out of 46!

  • Anyone remember Le tiss playing for england b against russia in 98 and scoring one of the best hat-ricks you will ever see? Hoddle was even smiling on the touchline and still never picked, what a c***!!!!

  • scored three that day, hit the bar hit the post, made the other two goals and after the game when asked what Hoddle thought about le tiss,s performance all he could say was he thought darren (skate) anderton had a good game (umbelievable)

  • le tiss never got picked coz he was an alcaholic, and still is

  • @uscummertwat thank god, or should I say MLT for that, cos it could have been worse he could have been an alcoholic!!!

  • Quite simply the best player i have ever watched! Was lucky enough to be at some of those memorable nights at the dell, no one could score the quality of goals he banged in. A true genius, we all know why he never played for england, he was too maverick for them, like Cantona was for france, these two are the best players to grace the premier league!

  • i remember buying this video fromt the saints shop when i was like 7! never fails to make me want to go out for a kickaround

  • The tap in he scores at 1:17 is quite stunning.

    What a player.

  • Why Le Tiss did not get a fare chance for England is that he knocked back Hoddle when he tried to buy him for Chelsea and knocked back Vegtables when he tried to buy him for Tottenham, the two managers who ended up in charge of England. their pig headedness cost all true England fans a magical deckade.plus to play for England under Vennables you had to be a member of his nightclub in London ( Skribes)

  • played for hoddle in England B match against Russia scored 3 hit the post hit the bar made the other 2 goals, when asked about le tiss at end of game all hoddle could say was i think anderton had a good game ( Umbelievable )

  • wow!

  • name of the song ?

  • you're unbelievable - EMF

  • he is one of the best english players we have had shame he never really played for england

  • exelente jugador

    muy buenos goless

    felicitaciones

  • he probably had to play like a striker to get goals for a bottom of the ladder team but his position was midfield i assure you.

  • yes hes an unbelievable player, but hes also unbelievably ugly as fuck

  • he wasnt a striker he was a midfielder u fucking fool.

  • I would say he was closer to a striker.

Either way, doesn't matter, he was a very skillful player. Technically, he was incredible.

  • I can see how you might think he was a striker due to scoring over 200 goals in his career, but he was just an incredible midfield player.

  • up with the best strikers EVER!!!

  • the best player i have seen for volleys!!!! cheers :)

  • watchin this made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck! LEGEND!

  • just look at how many caps Heskey as got to matt.

its just wrong, terry v and glen h should hang there heads in shame.

  • Two diffrent players in two different era's, the likes of the heskey's allow the likes of the Le Tissiers to weave there magic by taking care of the dirty work. Heskey has deserved all of his 50 caps there no coincidence when he plays he England fair well, as for Le Tiss he deserved so much better than the scraps England managers fed him over the years he should of at worst been used as a super sub.

  • lol, what Emel heskey the mouse

  • genius. better than cantona and thats coming from a utd fan

  • the man, the myth, the legend! Come on you saints!

  • they used to be rlly good u idiot.

  • saint mathew was doing gods work and didnt give a fuck about the money!

  • what? 00:38 sec is teh best goal and 1:52 omg great goals

  • 0:55. That goal makes me smile even more in slow motion. Apart from maybe some one I'm too young to remember. He's just below Gasgoigne on the greatest English players list.

  • most technically gifted english player ever, wot a legend, come on u reds

  • Most skillful english player of all time. And most loyal too. Great great man

  • legend

  • .54 to 1.01 - the best keeper in the world looking like a monkey! genius!

  • would have been all time legend if he joined spurs!!!Still my favourite player of all time..he played with relatively little pressure at saints..so he'll never be considered a true great, added to fact he didn't do much for england, granted he wasn't given the opportunity), BUT still the guy was class. A rare breed. An entertainer.diference between someone like le tiss+maradona.diego did it at the highest level in an average team, just like matty.but fair play to him for being loyalto the saints.

  • he played without pressure??? theres only pressure right up the top or right down the bottom.he should of joined spurs if he didnt want pressure coz they always mid table.

  • I think he had 1 penno saved. By Mark Crossley I think????

  • Correct. Fat wanker Crossley!

  • it was tim flowers mate

  • No its was Crossley. Mate

  • Maradona,Baggio,Platini,Soqrates,Beckham and many famous players missed penalty kicks>>> but Le Tissier? didnt miss one single penalty kick in his life!!! what do you think guys?

  • increible

what's the name of the song?

  • I don't believe it

  • Just imagine the damage he would have caused if he had to move to a bigger Club...

  • alti livelli

  • WOOOW...you're really freak

  • Thanks so much patrick, try looking up 'irony' in the dictionary. A dictionary? Ohhh......... just go back to school.

  • i get it,but i don't think it's funny:-)

  • you're really best football player in the world...was it ironic enough?:-)

  • What a great player he was! A true footballing genius and not just that he was very loyal to his club which is hard to find in a player nowdays!!!

  • Truly unbelievable

  • real class

  • wow u are a bull shiter i bet u have neaver scored a goal like that in your life

  • yeah and i bet you score them with your ass

shutup freak, matt le tissier is a god

  • yeah but you're a grown man playing in the under 6 girls' league

  • THE..most underrated player of all time!! Skills that were, and are still hard to find equals in the game..

  • Nothing left to said

  • I had this video! Was brilliant. I've met him, he's a nice man :)

  • Some fantastic goal's there, but also some average one's would you not think!

  • Learn to spell.

  • Que precisión y calidad tiene este jugador, increíble.

  • i sure wish he ad played for my team Benfica from Portugal,le tissier is 10 times better than C.Ronaldo

  • Le Tissier was certainly a special player. Watch his goal against Liverpool (30 seconds in). Half the Liverpool fans behind the goal applaud. You don't see that very often. It's criminal the way he was treated by England bosses; he would've given the side such a boost of flair and invention. There were plenty of others who could've done all the donkey work. Oh well, and we wonder why we don't win anything....

  • Diego Maradona isn't fit to lace Matty's boots, only Pele was better... Glad he stayed at Southampton his whole career but the rest of the world doesn't know what it missed.. cheers for the memories Matt.

  • Great player. Unbelievably under-valuated !!!! Made me love the premier league.

    With respect from ITALY

  • How England could do with a le tiss now, what an exceptional talent, a disgrace he never played at a world cup. Il take skill over work rate any day

  • England could also do with some1 who could take a penalty, i think Le Tiss only had 1 saved/missed during his career (wouldn't hold me to that stat though). Great player!

  • That's right - only Mark Crossley has saved a Le Tissier penalty in the game at 00.39.

You could say with THAT goal he more than made amends for his miss.

  • I met him :D.

  • hes sickening! this guy is UNBELIEVEABLE

  • Nice video! Matt is my favorite player!!!

  • Legend! Not just to saints fans but to anyone who loves football.

Only 8 caps for England because of England managers obsession with "work rate". Almost scored an amazing goal against Romania (I think?) which may have endeared him more. Having said that Hoddle didn't take him to the world cup even after his hat-trick against Russia. Scandalous!!

The fans will always remember what an amazing player he was.

  • Had the ability to make something out of nothing. Even with his excess baggage!

Le Tiss is a legend in all saints fans eyes, kept us up throughout the 90s!

  • great video mate.

le tissier was one of a few players who just captured my imagination as a kid - despite not being someone on official all-time lists or top 10's or whatever, i always remember him with awe. one of my all time favourites without a doubt.

  • Legend. The four-touch goal against Newcastle surely is a contender for best goal of all time. I remember watching it live on Sky and they re-played it all the way through in slow motion with a closer up camera, in the snow, it was almost a work of art.

  • he was such a good player such control, every goal he scored was amazing.

    good vid ty

  • Magnifecent video.

  • Great vid!

  • Great video.

Never heard of this guy until for some reason I stumbled onto that Newcastle goal. Has a wonderful feel for the goal. And, has the ability to create a goal from nothing. How did he not end up playing in intl contests.

  • Genius! I remember this video! Great stuff
