  • you're really good. I like it.

  • ooo wow ;) super ;)

  • Nice! Great Job! The only other thing I have to say is Don't forget to have fun with it!!! You don't have to play the music straight off of the page, you can change it a little and make it your own.

  • BEAST!

  • haha, i like seeing the expressions on peoples faces that play instruments with mouthpieces i have this wierd looking face when i play like the high notes like a and b and c my face puckers up like i just ate a lemon or something (: lol nice job!

  • nice job great tone but one thing I suggest is to improve your articulation to make sure there is a disticted difference between dits doos dahs and dahts... nail thoughs and you golden

  • You can't play yakety sax on an alto. It just doesn't sound right.

  • Nice. I tried playing the Saxophone in Band this year. My Goal is to play this song.

  • nice

  • Not too bad =D All I could say to improve would be add a bit more flourishes. Growl a bit, bend some notes.

  • How is it that it sounds like a violin o.o It's actually kinda cool XD Nice tone :)

  • Well done buddy - excellent effort! Keep it up and you'll having fun for ever.

  • Well done buddy - excellent effort!

  • where did you get the music?(:

  • אהבתי לשמוע אותך על החצוצרה שלך :-)

  • @Mickycond86 שרוט XD

  • Sounds good, you've got a nice tone

  • you control the notes great!

maybe you can try to growl a little? that'll make the song a lot harder ;)

    good luck!

  • great job.

  • what are the notes?

  • its impressive how he memorized that :o

  • @Jackash1508 there is clearly a stand with music on it infront of him O_o

  • @Jackash1508 its clear his eyes are closed for most of the song.

  • Sounds really good to me!

  • Nice brotha! just like in "The Benny Hill Show" ! ;]

  • it sounds like a violin to me, but the video shows it is a sax :))

  • lovely player plays from HEART not from sheet music

  • large

  • I seem to have the same exact sheet music you do... it sounds like it only it seems you put more emotion into it.

You have to have some freaking awesome chops to keep this up. I get worn out around halfway.

  • fail

  • @XxXDanielGXxX

    boots randolph

THE MOST EPIC PLAYER IN THE UNIVERSE

    but urs is good too

  • LEGEND : )

  • i see you lift your finger completely off the key. i used to do the same. your note changes might sound cleaner if you keep your fingers on the key even if it is not held down. did wonders for my playing.

  • BRAVO!!!! WELL DONE!

  • growl that shit

  • AMAZING!!!! You inspire all middle school alto sax players. I'm astounded! But to me it sounds like you slur everything...do you? I said all alto sax middle school players because I'm currently an 8th grade female alto sax player. Where did you get the music????

  • lol this tune makes me think of the late benny hill puts a smile on my face every time nice one

  • Bullshit!

  • listen to the original recording. fix ur differences.

  • @TheIzzysteve This is a very difficult song to play.

    - D.G.

  • Dude, Im in the 6th grtade and I could probably play it better than you. Not to mention faster. So shut up. I learned it in 15 minutes. And I can play it on just about any sax. Soprillo, Sopranino, Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bari, Bass, Contrabass.

  • @TheIzzysteve really? prove it! Make a video of yourself playing it! And have everyone decide for themselves.

  • @TheIzzysteve you need to get a life he played that pretty damn good

  • @TheIzzysteve Well thats pretty cool and all. But i watched your video's and all i see is an ugly ass kid failing to reload a fricking rifle. So untill you upload some video's of you playing this actual song perfectly on "every" sax please stfu and dont watch these video's if you're gonna be bitching anyways.

  • you know this kid is in the 6th grade right?

  • Funny

  • Comment removed

  • Take a cue from the trombones (metaphorically) and let it loose. This is the piece that is the jazz trombonists "Trombone Buster" (google it)

Let the the chamber group tone go. And friggin' crank it!

Good understanding of the piece. You know the piece, now just make it epic.

  • good job, man !!

  • work on your tounging all the notes kind slur togethor should be more choppy. where did u get the music

  • Too precise - let loose! :D

  • needs to be a little more "choppy". but very good playin!!!

  • I used to play alto!!! But i turned it in :( I still cry over it... (such a hard loss)

But now I play an 80 year old tenor that play's like a charm!!!!! :D

  • can you please send me the notes ?

  • pass me the notes plz:)

  • More staccato and faster would be better

  • PASSME THE NOTES PLEASE

  • Good Job, I'm also an alto sax player, but keep working on it, gotta be a little faster. :D

  • to slow man gatta be like boots

  • Yeah this song is well know for it's growl. keep on working.

  • hmm .. gweeemonster is right, the technique is the easiest part.. dark round sound is tough to get..u just need to play that fast part rly slowly like 1000 times :) and u gonna play it well .. the problem is to play fast compositions with nice tone, u can check my video of yakety sax :PP

  • You are slurring way to much. Are you doing that on purpose?

  • Hey people, i will start to play saxhophone, is this song hard to do?

  • yes it is

  • uh yeah...if ur just startin to play

  • Yeah lol

  • HAHA IT DOES SOUND LIKE A VIOLIN!

  • work on it mate, more growl, i've only played for 3 years BUT i know a LOT

  • it sound like a vilolin!

  • more staccato is better

this is to soft need more a bit of growl and more power

  • Where did you get the backing track for this? I would love to get it so I could post a version of this tune!

  • great job!

  • I'd say its pretty good, besides i don't think anyone could expect this to be as good boots. Still pretty awesome

  • BENNY HILL FTW!

  • I thought it sounded awesome, your tone rules.

  • sounds like a violin

  • You have the technique, which is the easiest part of the saxophone. You just need to work on style and it will greatly improve. Boots Randolph uses stachato on all of the eighth notes (or 16th if you aren't reading an arrangement in cut-time) if you listen to him.

  • The technique is NOT the easiest part of the saxophone. Just the embouchure is a hell of a lot work to get straight. A little more support by your stomach (diaphragma? support) and it would be a heck of a lot better.

  • I've been playing saxophone for 7 years. Trust me, the technique is the easiest part. Getting a good sound is very hard on the saxophone. I don't know many people who actually have a french classical sound. That dark, round sound is tough to get. Many players just have shitty tones that they think are good. LASERS! That is acceptable in jazz obviously though.

  • I played clarinet for 5 years before I switched over to sax. I've now played sax for 6 years. So I do have some experience on this matter. The only thing I get straight is the classical sound. If you know how to use the diapraghma you will find the tone eventually. But to play fast AND with tongue is something you use years to learn! You can't deny those facts!

  • @gweeemonster as long as you can play like you have a golf ball in the back of your mouth you can darken your sound...(on bari for sure... havent tried on alto... won't till marching season)

  • I try to think that I have a warm potato in the back of my mouth. :) But the outcome should be the same. :) It works that way^^ If you do all the other things right too (embouchure, diapragma +++ blahblah).

  • Boots randolph is rolling over in his grave. You suck. Seriously you have sheet music to that song and still blow The entire song was a fail. Next time dont slur every note. noob

  • ...And we can all guess that you can do better?

Why don't you clowns grow up? Give the guy some credit. He won't exactly wow us with that playing, but he got YOUR attention, and he had the guts to post it. He'll improve, but will you ever grow up? He can get rid of mistakes with practice, but can how you ever get rid of your ugly attitude?

  • (continued)...I've heard too many people who should never have revealed how bad they are...and on a public post like Youtube! They should have learned how to play first...but they post their videos and a bunch of morons tell them how good (???) they are. This guy can play this better than most of you, or you wouldn't have attacked his efforts. Jealous idiots...

Keep up the good work, Dan!

  • OMOP413 Is A Real Pole Mop If you know What I Mean Haha

  • Comment removed

  • stop, you suck, horrible stop slurring your notes

  • You suck.

  • kinda sounds like a violin

  • holy shit ur right, lol i like turned away from my screen and it sounds a hell lot more like a violin then a sax

  • Nice playing! I would really go for it more though - it's a bit precise.

  • do u not own a tongue?

  • can u please tell me wher i can find this music 4 alto please

  • wOW that was great

  • no it wasnt he slurred the whole peace basicaly

  • Boots has slurred a lot of the song himself at times. Ronny Aldrich, who did the Benny hill version, tongues the thing a lot more than I've ever heard Boots do. I don't think that makes Boots sloppy, though.

  • boots tongues it though, this kid just doesnt

  • Sorry to bother you, but what does that mean?

I've always been interested in learning the sax.

  • tonging is when u use ur tongue to basicly slap the reed, which is a wooden part on ur mouthpiece, to make a crisp/clear distinction between the notes, and when u slur is when u play like this kid who doesnt use his tongue to put a break between the notes

  • really nice....man, can you send me a sheet of this?

  • when i went and looked for a pro horn, i was fortunate enough to play ALOT of saxes myself and i ended up picking a P. Mauriat System 76, and i've had no buyers remorse. I picked it over selmer series 2 and 3, Z custom yamaha, some jupiter thing, and the yamaha 62 series, which are very popular these days. but ive not played a bundy, i wouldnt know

  • bundy saxes suck

  • So do opinions that aren't backed up...like yours.

Bundys are good for beginners, and you can still get parts for them.

Sainjae, Yamahas are made better than Bundys. As a sax player and repairman, I find the Yamaha's action more responsive than the Bundy's. The tone's also more centered. Bundys don't sound better than Yamahas unless the Bundy is in the hands of a good player and the Yamaha's being played by a poor player. The Bundy is a "beat-around-and abuse" instrument and sounds like it.

  • You say his opinion sucks, then you say the Bundy brand is a "beat -around-and-abuse" sax.

Why does an opinion need to be "backed up" anyway

  • I repair saxes for a living, and I think that gives me some backup to any opinions I offer.

HIs saying that Bundys suck doesn't mean anything just because he says so. Does he know ANYTHING about saxes?

If RockRax6 said he is a fair player and has compared the Bundy to so-and-so sax, then he'd have some basis for his opinion.

If I said RockRax6 sucks (I'm NOT saying so!), then my opinion's not worth crap unless I give a good reason for saying to.

  • I respect your expertise, but he's just insulting an sax. brand, which is not the same as insulting a person

  • When saxophones come to sound quality, yamaha will give you the greatest flexibility in air control. The Yamaha mouthpiece is great too, for concert its just right and it can be used as a jazz mouthpiece, although i recommend getting and actual selmer jazz mouthpiece with american cut reeds.

  • Bundy actually sound ALOT better than yamaha....the only thing is, they dont make bundy's anymore to my knowledge so they are hard to find....have a bundy and it sounds alot better than most yamahas i have come across.

  • can u send me the sheet music? i really wanna play that =] (p.s ur amazing!!!)

  • Hey what brand sax do you play on?

Im looking for a new one.

    :)

  • if u like his sound ask him wat mouthpiece, the mouthpiece is wat affects his sound

  • Only to an extent! Most of the tone depends upon the sax and the player. The reed, of course, makes a big difference, too. he mouthpiece that suits one player might not be the best...or even tolerable...to another.

  • It is a little slow but who cares. LOVE IT!

  • WOW! You have great tone, control and timing... how long have you been playing?

  • Can you please send me a music sheet for this, i have looked EVERYWHERE and i couldn't find it. Please ill be soo grateful! (suscribing)!

    Keep it up man 5*

  • Ur so awsome!!!

  • daniel: you're right on this. Go ahead!

  • ive played sax for 4 years before, thinking about to bring it up back again JUST to learn this song :D

  • sheet music!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Slap the reed some more with your tongue to articulate those notes, they sound blurred.

  • I agree to a degree. but i think the way it's played here, it works o.k. :P

  • That sounds really good, what grade are you? How long have you been playing? Also could you send me the music so I can learn this.

  • i play the tenor and the barry sax and im only in 7th grade!

  • you're an idiot.

    you spelled 'bari' wrong.
