I was taught that hell is when the Earth is totally consumed by fire. And all of Christs saints from the very beginning of history to modern day is safe inside the holy city when Christ returns. All the unsaved throughout history to modern day are all consumed in the lake of fire. The lake of fire will be the whole earth. They will be destroyed not suffer forever.

I guess my conscience caught up with me, and I had to justify what I believed. It wasn't easy, and still isn't, (all family Christian, and most of my friends too). I started reading the bible from a critical point of view, not just blindly accepting everything at face value, and realized that: 1) The Bible is logically inconsistent. 2) If the representation of God in the Bible is accurate, then he is not worthy of anyone's praise.

Exactly. Non of what the Bible says holds any more credibility than Lord of the Rings. A book written by men (or a man in LotR), with little to no hold in the real world. A crudely written book made to give an explanation of something we didn't understand back then. But we've progressed since then.

This movie was awesome. I remember the previous confrontation and how he managed to survive the fall. I found it totally awesome that God gave him grace to walk away from that, so that he will have one last chance to be saved. Also, when the president asked for guidance, God let him through the enemy's lobby. It's just AMAZING what God can do and how He uses us as his tools. ^^

I met this guy by the name of Darius. He was from Lithuania. I worked with him, became friends with him, but sooner or later he frightened me. We were exposed to noxious gas yet he was uneffected. He even had super human strength. Could he be the Antichrist?

I was taught that hell is when the Earth is totally consumed by fire. And all of Christs saints from the very beginning of history to modern day is safe inside the holy city when Christ returns. All the unsaved throughout history to modern day are all consumed in the lake of fire. The lake of fire will be the whole earth. They will be destroyed not suffer forever.

What you are describing sounds like Christians to me. When I used to be apart of the Southern Baptist Convention, the members were selfish, greedy, boastful, proud, abusive, ungrateful, without love, mean-spirited, judgemental, self-righteous, slanderous, brutal, not lovers of doing good to others, treacherous, conceited, and lacking a conscience. There's no absolutely no evidence that the story of Noah ever took place. It's simply a myth that borrowed elements of it's story from other cultures and religions like the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Egyptian Book of the Dead. The story of Noah is bullocks. Can that be quanitfied by the five senses-wind?Justice?There are lots if things that we accept as real that cannot be seen, why would belief in God be any different. I guess my conscience caught up with me, and I had to justify what I believed. It wasn't easy, and still isn't, (all family Christian, and most of my friends too). I started reading the bible from a critical point of view, not just blindly accepting everything at face value, and realized that: 1) The Bible is logically inconsistent. 2) If the representation of God in the Bible is accurate, then he is not worthy of anyone's praise.
But mostly, it makes no sense.

Exactly. Non of what the Bible says holds any more credibility than Lord of the Rings. A book written by men (or a man in LotR), with little to no hold in the real world. A crudely written book made to give an explanation of something we didn't understand back then. But we've progressed since then.
It may all be true, but there's no evidence that points towards that conclusion.

I am familiar with theologians who believe there isn't a Hell as a place, but as a state of mind. However this seems to negate the understanding of a Heaven as an opposite of Hell. Is that the point you're trying to reach with your question?

Assuming both properties, God now creates people, knowing their fate (Hell or Heaven) before they are even born. Although knowing, he allows for a majority of his beloved children to suffer for eternity. Although almighty, he does little to stop this.
In actuality, God creates the majority of mankind to suffer; and there is absolutely nothing be can do to chance this. If you are born for Hell, you are going to Hell.
God knows if you will be an atheist or a Christian. You have no free will.

We're already being rounded up and killed because of our faith in Christ and it will continue to do so. It is not a fanaticism that we came up with because we didn't like anything else, it was a letter that God sent to us, using his disciples He left a letter of love for us. Look through history and you can see that through the grace of God we are here today. Because people BELIEVED.

This movie was awesome. I remember the previous confrontation and how he managed to survive the fall. I found it totally awesome that God gave him grace to walk away from that, so that he will have one last chance to be saved. Also, when the president asked for guidance, God let him through the enemy's lobby. It's just AMAZING what God can do and how He uses us as his tools. ^^

I understand you. That's why I haven't watched this movie in the same way I missed "The Da Vinci code" and "The Golden Compass". I do plan to see the movies, because they sound fun. I am aware that doctrine is dangerous. Yet if you try to ban these books, you become like them, the fundies who tried to ban Harry Potter, the Grimm's Faerie Tales and Dungeons & Dragons. There are people with which we may disagree and they have books which we might not like...
