Interesting, a viable concept, yet not necessarily true: I tend to completely ignore the fact that I'm playing an opponent, billiards being a sport in which one never enters the same ring as e.g. in boxing, nor even the same court as in tennis, nor playing field as in soccer etc. We all play against, literally, the balls, the table, the layout, the pattern, a given situation, thus ultimately, ourselves. I consider it a loss of energy to concern oneself with more than that.
