to bad this guy cant actually answer peoples questions instead of telling them to listen to his radio show... I mean I get he's tryin to sponser it but he could do it on the videos and as much time as he spends to tell people to listen to his radio show he could give them a real answer.. thumbs down to you sir, you are obviously not customer friendly
I've been having trouble with sand scratches showing through the basecoat and making the texture look uneven - I first sand to metal, sand up to 400-600, then apply primer and sand that with 600, and then apply base coat.. but like i say it looks uneven. Should I be sanding my primer? It says Cellulose Filler on it.
You started in the middle of the hood. I do that to sometimes but most of the pro say to start from the outside to the middle because the coat will still be wet and reduce the chance of getting a line in the middle of the hood.
seems this guy knows what hes doin but when i prime i open up my pattern almost the whole way to cover more ground quicker.. i still put on 2 full wet coats but i open it up and get it done.
Hey hows it goin? Im getting ready to paint a fiberglass helmet that the paint has been removed down to the fiberglass. Is epoxy primer the next step? Also what is the difference in epoxy primers and other primers? Thank for you help.

I listen to your radio broadcasts but I wasn't able to pick up on the above question. I am getting side skirts for my car and I was thinking about doing the repainting myself. Any advice on the steps I should follow to paint the side skirts? I was going to sand it down, use wet sand paper to smooth it, spray with spray can primer and finally finish off with few coats of spray paint.
Hey guys, I'm getting a lot of questions about this, so I addressed the question on my radio show Shop Talk. Go to my website and click on Shop Talk to hear Day 9: Bodywork 101.

Can you do a segment on glide coating, what type to use, what it is used for, and how you make adjustments with the results your getting from the sanding process?

I am surprised that you did not have the hood hanging up so you could do the underside at the same time.
