I've worked in the oil industry. Without a doubt, BP will ultimately blame the 11 dead workers from the Horizon rig for this massive fuck up.
Another thing to be aware of is that it's not only crude oil coming out of that hole in the ocean floor. Deadly H2S gas is also a huge factor for all those wondering why birds and mammals are turning up dead on the shore with no signs of contamination. H2S gas is the deadliest gas known to man, and is highly water soluble. Really bad news for sea life!

We can round floating oil above the sea into a big funnel with its draining tube shot off. Sinked the funnel till its edge with some cracks just below water surface. At the center sink in two tubes with different depth into the draining tube. The deeper one sip off water faster than stream spilling in from cracks.
When I have dinner I make sure I have a napkin to catch any spills. If I'm an oil company I don't need to have any resources nearby to catch any spills because:
A) it can never happen
B) never thought of it
C) government didn't force me
D) don't give a crap about someone else's "backyard"

I agree w/ mercedescl! We are all contributing to the problem. I still drive a car that relies on 4 quarts of oil every 3000 miles. And a tank of gas every week! I have no ideal of what my individual carbon use is...but I'm sure its not good! Nevertheless...I'm always encouraged about new technologies and renewable energies that lessen our reliance on Oil!
I understand that we can't change things over night...but this underscores the need to get off the Oil nipple and on to cleaner energies...We are destroying this world and depleting all the natural resources. It's heartbreaking.

I had an idea to completely rip out all that piping down there and lower a giant horizontal concrete slab over the hole on the ocean floor.
Trust me, they can do this and stop the leak. Greed is the reason they won't use my idea.

line piping. I wrote the Department of the Interior with a design to cut
a large hole in an oil tanker. Sinking the ship over the leak capturing the

I've worked in the oil industry. Without a doubt, BP will ultimately blame the 11 dead workers from the Horizon rig for this massive fuck up.
Another thing to be aware of is that it's not only crude oil coming out of that hole in the ocean floor. Deadly H2S gas is also a huge factor for all those wondering why birds and mammals are turning up dead on the shore with no signs of contamination. H2S gas is the deadliest gas known to man, and is highly water soluble. Really bad news for sea life!

When water level in funnel is lower than the entrance of the draining tube of the funnel, water and oil will become separated as two layers of liquid in the narrow draining tube. When the water lever inside the draining tube is lower than the shorter sipping tube, start the short sipping tube for sipping off only oil, slow the rate the deeper tube sipping to keep the shorter tube sipping off only oil.

We can round floating oil above the sea into a big funnel with its draining tube shot off. Sinked the funnel till its edge with some cracks just below water surface. At the center sink in two tubes with different depth into the draining tube. The deeper one sip off water faster than stream spilling in from cracks.

I agree w/ mercedescl! We are all contributing to the problem. I still drive a car that relies on 4 quarts of oil every 3000 miles. And a tank of gas every week! I have no ideal of what my individual carbon use is...but I'm sure its not good! Nevertheless...I'm always encouraged about new technologies and renewable energies that lessen our reliance on Oil!
