i like it because the guys won't go down unless he executes the technique correctly. this is great!!! they're doing him a service that way. the randori was slow, but that's ok. he was clearly out of gas - breathing through his mouth the whole time.
@drfiend A randori is pretty much that, you get attacked by multiple partner and you defend yourself the best you can. It can be a pretty demanding exercise and it doesn't take a while to get tired.
Regardless of what some other comments say, well done - this was a tough test! 5 mins is a long time to face 6 uke! I know what you mean about "technique freeze" with sankyo - but you got a great one on Darren towards the end ;-)
If I may offer two words of advice: when you're tired, make more use of atemi to take the initiative from your uke; try not to get caught on the omote side of shomen/tsuki. Move to uke's ura side and you will get less stand-up grappling. Congrats, and keep at it!
@kokyuryoku Look a lot like Yoseikan proper ending to the technique or the guy doesn't end them on purpose...
The Judge are kind of messing around too much, I mean their knowledge alone of the technique he is trying makes them able to counter them too easily, witch kind of defeat the purpose of testing... Unless the goal is for him to improvise and personalize his technique but most kind of Aikido are against that...
Interesting to get an outside perspective. As far as attitude, you are somewhat correct - I could stand to be a bit more aggressive. However at this point in the test I was already pretty exhausted =] That's part of the reason sankyo pops out so often...when you're tired you tend to fall into patterns/ruts, which I fully acknowledge. Later in the test I was barred from doing sankyo or shiho nage for that reason.
I actually practiced with Darren (big guy) extensively prior to the test
aikido, however peaceful it intends to be, is a martial art, so you must have a martial attitude when performing techniques, that doesn't mean you have to be aggresive though, just show determination and be steady throuout the technique. easier said than done, i know, but keep that in mind and soon enough you'll be a lot more advanced
you can get some inspiration from shodokan aikido, watch some vids and see what attitude can do for you
that low!
As degenerate aikido and sheer force is only observed.

Great work. Seemed like you had a long test because you were already tired. Keep up the good work.

What about your Senseis? Who were their teachers? They must have some connection to some style.

If I recall correctly, my sensei's main instructor studied with Kozono and the Aiki Kokyu Kan

you should practice with the big guy more often, 1:03 to 1:18 was very realistic
