Come to Brazil, here... every day, hundreds of poor people are dying in the public hospitals.
It's sad... one day I'll get out of this socialist shit country... if I find an american defending this system, i will give him in a punch in the face.
You tube this "Ron Paul: "This real-estate bubble will burst, as all bubbles do" (part 3)". 2001 Dr. paul warned and predicted the housing crisis. And even named the companies and regulations that came to cause it.
Roberson vs. CitiBank 1994 Barack Obama was one of the lawyers sueing banks to force the lending. Obama knew and knows exactly who drove the car in the ditch!!!
Also, I hope this doesn't sound too horrible, but I got a feeling we needed someone like barry hussien to wake up true conservatives to where our country was headed. We were snoozing with progressive republicans, but with liberal progressives so agressively assaulting our country's foundations, we needed a good hard 2 x 4 of reality to understand the danger. That is what barry hussien has done, and for that, I suppose he was useful.
I will be honest, I do not agree with everything but so many things you have said is so true. It is ridiculous what hoops you have to go through just to get the "truth" and actual information.
Poverty and misery during the last several years have opened many eyes. Let's hope that millions of others will reject the intentional destruction next November. God bless you!! Read Going Rogue, if you would like to see how a REAL leader governs. *HUGS*
I would venture to say that all politicians are liars to one extent or another. But this administration is removing our freedoms one at a time. It's just a matter of time before it has dwindled to nothing. Thanks for being real and making a good point to all who are willing to "really" listen.
Very refreshing with pin point accuracy in exposing the present leading politcal environment. I love the part you mentioned about Bill Clinton and lending. As you said the liberal media is silent about it. Shame on them! With people like you, hope for this nation is preserved.
@spiritalan - Thank you. I have all of my research available to support every assertion that I make in my speech (and much more). Just let me know if you want it.
And let's not forget when Michael Moore cited the WHO rankings in Sicko, pointing out the U.S.'s low ranking, he praised Cuba's health-care system. But he never pointed out that Cuba ranked even lower than the U.S. in that same list. Sure, if the criteria favors socialized health systems, then of course, the U.S. will rank low.
@showme6969 - Yes...I have links and info to an interview between Moore and Stossel, showing Moore lying at least twice. I will share that data with you if possible, including the link to the WHO study showing that the US ranked #37 overall and #1 in System Responsiveness, while Cuba ranked #39 overall and #117-119 in System Responsiveness!! Yet Moore claims WHO says their system is better. It is tragic, but Michael Moore is not really interested in truth or facts, clearly.
@vicegrips23 - Thank you very much. This speech was given in a bowling alley for a Patriots group. I have all of the references/resources for the statements/claims made in my speech. I am always happy to share those with others, but they do not post well here. I have found that if you ask me for them on my profile, I can send them to you privately. Please do not hesitate to ask. Jodi
@vicegrips23 It was at a Tea party meeting that I attended - was even better in person! Might I suggest you find a Tea Party near you. You may be surprised to find out what an intelligent, well informed and caring group of folks we are. If nothing else, pass this video along - it speaks well to those who sense something is wrong - but, do not understand why.
@chwisch87 As someone who is an actual healthcare provider and travels/treats patients worldwide I can state that the majority of people living under socialized medicine would prefer our current system! Having been involved with international air ambulance operations for over a decade I can all so state that many of those citizens who can afford it fly to the US for healthcare since they CAN NOT receive it in their own country.
@dwgarrard NO it means you're free!! Free to work as hard as you want or not to work....free to choose whatever path you want to take...
Freedom doesn't mean ENTITLEMENT!!!
Heath-care, housing, food...you do not have an entitlement to demand the gov supply those needs to you. The gov is the taxpayer when you get righ down to it.
Any thing that requires the services or goods at the expense of others...free of cost to you...is taking away their freedoms!
Millions like this fine lady are out there... seeing candidate Obama and the hope'y change'y lies are just that, lies by the president Obama and the fact that Clinton puts the blame of the collapse at the door of the democrats. "Democrats you didn't inherit the collapse you helped cause it..."
@chwisch87 - Can you guide me to proof that "doctors were mostly bought on the idea...they would make a million dollars a year". Facts please, not rhetoric. Our govt run health systems currently do worse at controlling costs, despite strong cost controls, than our private system, so govt takeover is not the solution. I can, again, guide you to the numbers regarding govt v. private in America - according to CMS. Direct Primary Care with wrap-around should be the basis of our access problems.
The WHO report was biased. As far as life expectancy they included accidents, murders, etc. for U.S. death rates but only natural causes for other countries. On other things like infant mortality the U.S. included stats on premature born babies while other countries did not. This report was pure propaganda. The U.S. ranked below countries like Morocco. Next time you come down with a serious illness why not fly to Morocco or other 3rd world countries with "better" healthcare.
i got two more Obama quotes for her ..."we are five days away from fundamentaly transform america" and "under my plan energy cost will necessary sky rocket" ,if that doesnt wake ya up i dont know what will
Liberalism is a personality type... one based upon over-emotionalism, reliance on impressions and imagery... not facts and evidence.... and built upon that which is the worst in us.
@chwisch87 of course both parties are responsible...this party has simply gone full blown commie! And who cares about the UK....stop comparing...there is NO comparison!
I should also point out that if you're a liberal and are planning on telling me that the unemployment rate fell like a rock after Franklin Roosevelt implement this 100% tax on those making $337,000/year (in today's dollars) in 1942, I might remind you that from 1941 - 1945, every able-bodied man in the United States was not working in the United States but fighting a war while all the women were working to produce military weapons. That is why unemployment fell, not Keynesian economics.
I fear that if we don't get rid of Obama, Obama is going to increase the income tax to 100% for anyone making over $250,000/year (thereby capping salaries to $250,000/year). Franklin Roosevelt did this to people earning $337,000/year (in today's dollars). You think 9.2% unemployment is high now, imagine 25 - 30% unemployment.
I hope more critical thinkers like this woman in the video not only study news but also history.
tens of millions of Obumbles voters I hope are feeling the same way. Will never understand why these dupes voted for that leftist radical progressive shyster.
@chwisch87 You should be careful to use President Bush's words re needing a home, in context. As a nurse I worked in ER's, operating rooms & Doctor's offices. I live in NE USA, the steady stream of Canadians coming to the USA for life saving care alone, spoke volumes. But their personal stories really hit home. One woman was told her child would have to wait @ 18 months for care for his brain tumor..."They wait for us to die to make ends meet, said another Canadian, who's life OUR care saved.
She didnt hear the rebuttals of Candidate O-bomb's lies when he got into office because she was stupid enough to watch MSM after the election. Lefty's love to make fun of Fox News, but if not for them all those tapes of O-Bomb's words & lies would have ended up in the same trash bin the interviews w/ BHO's former Harvard professors who said he was a 'lacking' student & many "allowances were made for him..even to be head of the Law review.".& so may other important items we had a right to see.
@chwisch87 - And I will agree about HMOs being a reason for problems. But we largely have the government to thank for expanding that problem, in an attempt to use government to control spending (Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973). Also, look-up and read the recent discussion titled: "How Direct Primary Care Reduces Primary Care Costs."
@chwisch87 - According to the World Health Org, 2008, we smoke, drink, and use more illegal drugs than France. According to NationMaster, we're most obese, shoot each other most, most car accidents, rape each other most, most teen pregnancies, etc...ALL leading to a lot more health care consumption and lower chances of increasing longevity. Yet, the OECD shows our system increases life expectancy better when people get sick. Our problem here is too much health spending, for many reasons.
12. "We create an access point to quality health care that did not exist for patients before. People who had no insurance can now afford primary care for less than the cost of a carton of cigarettes per month. For insured patients we provide longer visits with more streamlined service since none of their visit has anything to do with what insurance they have."
I'll share all links to all information on your profile, if possible. They will not link here.
"We lower costs for primary care by around 85%. Getting rid of the overhead associated with billing and filing claims is a big part of that. Also, getting buy in from specialists and ancillary service providers to give patients “cash up front” discounts for paying directly can reduce many of these costs by a similar margin."
10. In other words - We would have to pay MUCH LESS for 307 million Americans than we currently pay for 93 million Americans.
Our single payer friends want us to believe that we can LOWER that $1.083 Trillion dollars in government health care spending to avoid going broke, while we simultaneously ADD the remaining 214 million people despite the realities of the way we live (obesity, alcohol/tobacco, violence, etc.)
9. We have heard the CBO, this president and past, economists, etc., tell us that the govt health care budget is bankrupting our country. So we HAVE to lower that $1.083 T from our govt budget.
Consider a single payer system, like Canada or the UK, in the United States:
To have a single payer system, we would have to LOWER our $1.083 T dollar health budget, while simultaneously ADDING the remaining 214 million Americans to that government health care budget.
7. Of total annual dollars spent, the gov spent 44%, or $1.083 trillion. The remaining was spent by businesses and individuals.
So the gov spent $1.083 T to provide health care for 93.2 million people – or 30% of the population. Yet $1.4 T was spent through private insurance to provide health care for MORE THAN DOUBLE the number covered by gov. And the gov spent much more despite the fact that all of their programs already have strong cost controls built into their systems.
6. We would most certainly agree that spending must be reduced in this nation in order to control costs, but government does not seem to be the answer to that, according to actual numbers, shared here:
2009 Data = 307 million Americans
Insured status:
50.7 million uninsured (16%)
194.5 million private insurance (63%)
93.2 million government insurance (30%)
Total spending on health care in the US in 2009 = $2.5 Trillion dollars
5. Extrapolate 20% of a population here, and that's over 60 mill who would could have benefited from a drug/treatment, but were denied access to it because the success rates were not high enough in the studies to warrant providing it to everyone. We can argue forever whether or not I should be free to make my own choices about spending my own money for my own 5% survival rate. For the people who want to make our own life/death decisions, we should have the freedom to do that.
4. There is no such thing as a definitive 5% chance of survival. Medicine is never black and white. But more importantly, governments around the world are not deciding, on a case by case basis, along with the doctors whether or not a certain treatment is warranted based on an projected survival rate at that time. They are using studies of a small percentage of people and imposing those results onto everyone.
"The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago."
EVERYONE needs to see this. Fantastic video. I have been trying to tell my friends for YEARS how much liberals lie. It was a painful experience as I once was a liberal. Now that my eyes are open I cannot be one anymore.
2. It is less about what George W Bush said (or either party said/did) prior to the 2003 housing regulator attempting to sound the alarm. This is where the blame seems to shift more toward the Democratic party. But my problem with the Democrats and the media revolves around their attempt to say the GOP, and "their" failed policies are ALL to blame for where we are today. THEY drove the car into the ditch, the Democrats keep pushing and the media fails to debunk.
I was so impressed with this video I've featured it for a weekend on the front page of my website BoldRepublic, on my facebook page, and I talked about it on my radio show.
Great work Jodi. I have also experienced an awakening over the past 3 years. It's amazing when you do your own research and realize that both parties (Rs and Ds) and the media have been withholding the truth. So long as we all continue too self educate ourselves and share our findings with friends and neighbors we will restore our country back into the hands of 'We the People.'
It's kinda sad that to be a liberal all you have to be is a sheep. And it takes Dear Leader chewing on your ass to wake you up. Liberal in the classical sense(non-American) does mean Liberty, as she originally thought.
But it's the opposite in America. Liberalism in America means large government, socialism, communism, fascism, and the like. Which is in fact Classical Conservatism. Large government. Federalism. Empire. King's and Monarchs. They are all variations of large government.
Great video. Now all you have to do is realize that government cannot create liberty. It can only destroy it. That's the flaw even with original liberalism. It believes gov can create liberty. Liberty cannot be created by destroying it for one so they are lowered to the level of another. All government can do is use force.
@MEpianist. Apparently in your alternate universe rationing and confiscation are "civilised." Thanks for playing but next time use the whole deck please.
I remember when I became conservative. Was working for a living at minimum wage during the early 90's. Knew lots of "welfare" mothers. Tax time came around and they all got excited. So I thought I would do my taxes too - after a year of hard work I recieved a $26 tax return. These welfare mothers that hadn't worked all year got around $1200, a return on taxes they never paid into. That changed me around right quick.
Reading several of the posts here I see a common liberal argument, that being "we need to take care of the poor and elderly", and I agree we do. BUT, as a disabled veteran, I'm tired of hearing liberals say that we "leech from the taxpayer" (an accusation that has been directed toward me by liberals). So liberals what is the justification in saying that people who are poor or old are somehow more deserving of taxpayer support, than a veteran who volunteered to give his life for the nation?
@MEpianist - Walter Reed is an example of government run health care. You may trust Dems and therefore feel compelled to give them great power in health care, but the party or people you trust when giving that power cannot be in power forever. Once you have given government the power to provide it, the government also has the power to take it away. If you understand that our govt runs health care poorly, as you seem to, you should be fighting against them gaining power over the rest of us.
Bush didn't do anything to Walter Reed, which was part of the problem. Walter Reed was not the result of any one administration, it was the result of long term neglect by all concerned.
@MEpianist My problem with liberals is the disingenuous nature of their actions. Carter, one of our most liberal Presidents, drained the Armed forces manpower. Liberals, even today attack Reagan for spending too much, and raising the deficit, yet Reagan's spending would never have been needed if it were not for Carter's policies. Clinton conducted a similar drain of manpower from our intelligence gathering abilities, but Bush caught hell for not being prepared for 9/11.
@MEpianist Now Obama is both emploing the tactic of stretching our forces to the breaking point, while cutting simultaneously cutting their funding, and even freezing soldiers pay to pay for his social domestic programs. Programs that were proven failures under LBJ, but Obama sees it as his job to reinvent a square wheel.
RE: My earlier post about liberals, I am still waiting for any liberal to form a coherent thought as to why "Welfare" is justified but "VA benefits" are not?
I have been trying to get answers regarding Obamacare. My elected officials are all Republicans and all voted against it. I have called and written to the officials who wrote this bill, but after a year of asking, no one responds. I called the White House, but they don't answer ANY questions they only take comments. This issue as brought one thing to light, neither Obama, nor the Congress has any need for an "Ethics" committee, they need no committee for that which they do not possess.
@MEpianist - Actually, I did not say liberalism expanded, I said liberal power expanded. Even if the Dem party is less liberal than you, it would be impossible to argue that they are less liberal than the Rep party, though I would be willing to listen an attempt. If you feel the Dem party did not expand liberalism, that is for you to decide, but that does not reflect my statements here. Thank you for your post.
@tripletmomRN Well, I must say that your entire video was very thoughtful and is part of what makes YouTube so great. I was only reacting to the narrow statement about the expansion of liberal power.
I, too, am a regretful Obama voter, and I feel like a fool. But liberal institutions (Dem party, unions, Acorn, middle class) have been generally weakened since 2008, while conservative pro-establishment institutions have grown (DHS, DoD, Wall Street & the Tea Party)
Actually, the past two years have been a MASSIVE expansion of liberal policies, compounded by lies to make their programs look legitimate.
Most blatant of these is Obamacare, a program where the the liberals in congress cooked the books to legitimize and keep it below the promised 1 trillion price tag ceiling, but now that it has been crammed own out throats by the Democrats, the cost overruns are coming to light and adding the already bloated budget and deficit.
@ACRScout57 ObamaCare = HillaryCare = RomneyCare. Not really liberal. The liberal position (and Obama's position before he blatantly LIED HIS ASS OFF) was single payer like every other civilised country.
@MEpianist A point you neglected to cite, is that Romney tried a localized version of Obama's socialized care, aka "single payer", in MA and later stated that it was good in theory but a disaster in practice.
Also that Obamacare is not the end product, it is merely a charade designed to fail, and bring he system down, in order to pave the way for single payer.
Meanwhile Odimbo and Hillarity are still trying to sell the tainted snake oil, marketed in the same old bottles with new labels.
@Italman45 Yea, if you cared to check the comments history, you can see a respectful discourse with the woman who posted this video. Your intervention is useless.
@yakyakyak69 I now you think you're clever "yakyakyak69" but I am a left-libertarian and consider myself a progressive, so you're not going to pin statism on me. Forget the fascists of some time ago -- I'm certainly not calling for their positions, what people like Noam Chomsky and Jamie Galbraith are calling for is an end to crony capitalism. Where I think we might disagree is on climate change and health-care, but my position is socialist there -- we must control inefficient externalities!
@MEpianist It's Crony-CORPORATISM! Capitalism can not properly exist without the TOTAL liberty to self-police. Capitalism ONLY requires the State to defend the liberty of the INDIVIDUAL by NOT interfering except to keep monopolies from killing FREE competition.
"Progressives" have been using Gov't (the most powerful monopoly) for "redistribution" & “regulation for "justice" & "fairness" while pandering to "special groups" including unions, corporations etc since Wilson allowed the Fed!.
Liberals turning back from liberalism to conservatism is a good thing. However, which types of commentators and talk show hosts are more likely to do so? Is it the fanatic hateful screamers who sound like a right wing version of Randy Rhodes? Is it Michael Savage who calls gays "sodomites" and talks about blasting the middle east into glass? Or maybe it's the calmer people, who are respectful to liberals, and calmly explain why the beloved fellow citizens of the left are DEAD WRONG???
If you want some foreshadowing of the events to google "Balanced Budget Act of 1997". Through this act a democratic congress elected to defund rehabilitation services for Medicare. Elders lost valuable speech, occupational and physical therapy services. The negative impact of this act pales in comparison to ObamaCare. I know. I am a physical therapist who lost my job as a result of this act. Wake up America!
@fantasticspaztic . I had the same feeling. But then again, she is a nurse and when obamacare hit the medical field they all began seeing the light. I dont have much hope for the tree hugger green house gas mask of communism graduated biology study of a shrimp or a minnow 1 mile underground in the desert cave type person. Those people who want to herd people like cattle into controlled communes so we dont kill mother earth . Dream of posterity that may never be born in the end of age
Lady, I kinda love you right now. This was amazing, and straightforward and INFORMATIVE. Thank you for being so honest, real, and talking about what freedom is.
This "awakening" of the ObowWow voters is the reason he is trying to appear a bit more conservative/or moderate..I hope no one is being fooled by the clown.
8 years of the old oil family Bush.let his lobbyist friends make their own rules.. squander taxpayer federal funds. The years of Bush family is the direct cause of what ruined America.
See that is what happens when there is "SELF REGULATING" of banks and wall street...they take advantage and they took massive advantage of America.
Ok, so the lefty lib democrats are wrong, but so are the righty religious conservatives. Both groups ignore/evade the two sources of the ideas that make America great: the first is The Founders, and the second is Ayn Rand. The Founders set political rules based on the idea that no man has a right to that which another has a right to take away (Jefferson). Ayn Rand explained why that view is morally correct, and proved it by working from the rules of reality & the rules of reason. Read Rand.
Well said tripletmomRN. The "awakening" that is occurring amongst Americans is, I believe, going to save our country. Thanks for doing your part to now "awaken" others.
@roadkill53129 sorry but you have that entirely backwards.. its the liberals that have the facts, the conservatives base their illogic on Faith.. they admoitted it..were'nt any of you paying attention? or did the election of a black democrat make you wake up, only to be hypnotized by Faux Views LIES!!! LOL. YUP
I'm not a Bob Marley fan nor do I smoke or condone pot, but there's one thing I completely agree with him on is that "You can fool the people, but you can't fool the people all the time". Refer to Mosiah Chapter 11 if you're Mormon
In all reality, there is no democrat party, at least not like my fathers democrat party. It's been taken over by communists, maoists and progressives.
A fine speech by a woman who is clearly waking up. However, if she ever thought that liberalism was about freedom, she clearly never attempted to do anything before that bucked the uniformity of the Left. I learned how open-minded they were back in 10th grade just by getting a haircut. I'm sure this fine lady is learning how tolerant her liberal friends are right now.
@tripletmomRN I have no problem calling myself a Conservative, I just dont believe most Conservatives are Conservative! They completely lack the moral understanding of what Conservatism is supposed to be based on, and are nothing more than republican Libertarians: anything moral goes as long as you leave me alone and spend less of my money.
@hemna Be careful, Libertarianism is an immoral system that allows for anything and then claim it means freedom! Liberty is NOT license as Libertarians try to make it!
I was democrat.about 12 to 15 years ago I was listening to some speak and really listened.I kept thinking that is not right as they made statements. yes I listened and used my brain to think about what they were saying.
Can anyone say Public Speaking Classes? Anyways, overall I think you hit the nail on the head there. The media is either in love with or suppressed from accurately stating news as it really is. George Soros whom is a openly major liberal Marxist has extreme influence on the media, it's not a secret that he has hushed many(if not all) media outlets who try to report anything that does not agree with his agenda.
Of course, everyone thinks their opinion is based on fact, logic and reason. They are bedrock for critical thinking, not any particular political belief.
This is awesome. The whole point is that there is hope for people to actually see through the rhetoric and see fact, logic and reason. Which is bedrock for Conservative principles.
@princesorrow1 Give me an example. For Obama, I could say closing gitmo, continuation of Patriot act policies, public funding of campaigns, Israeli settlements, meeting with Ahmadinejad w/o preconditions, recounting medicare vs. Obamacare funds. These are all issues he has completely reversed his opinion on from candidate to president. Conservatives base their beliefes solelly on constitution and framer intent. Please cite conservative non-facts, not Republican but conservative constitutiona
“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation. In instances of self-defense, the President would be within his constitutional authority to act before advising Congress or seeking its consent. History has shown us..that military action is most successful when it is authorized and supported by the Legislative branch"
@yermomsboxx Not sure of your point. Military engagements under conservatives have been authorized, see wikipedia "Declaration of war by the United States" for synopsis. Use of force resolutions were passed through the Congress. Dems have relied on UN security resolutions to legitify action in Libya and other places. You are either bolstering my point or making some irrelevant observation.
Considering that the quote consisted entirely of 2007 Obama spitting in the face of 2011 Obama and his actions, I'd say, yeah, I was bolstering your point.
Want to see socialist medicine ?
Come to Brazil, here... every day, hundreds of poor people are dying in the public hospitals.
It's sad... one day I'll get out of this socialist shit country... if I find an american defending this system, i will give him in a punch in the face.

Yet Moore claims WHO says their system is better. It is tragic, but Michael Moore is not really interested in truth or facts, clearly.

Continued: So what does this mean? It means only the rich can have healthcare while the everyday citizen has rationed healthcare.
dwgarrard 7 months ago
@dwgarrard NO it means you're free!! Free to work as hard as you want or not to work....free to choose whatever path you want to take...
Freedom doesn't mean ENTITLEMENT!!!
Heath-care, housing, food...you do not have an entitlement to demand the gov supply those needs to you. The gov is the taxpayer when you get righ down to it.
Any thing that requires the services or goods at the expense of others...free of cost to you...is taking away their freedoms!

MrConservative608 7 months ago
I fear that if we don't get rid of Obama, Obama is going to increase the income tax to 100% for anyone making over $250,000/year (thereby capping salaries to $250,000/year). Franklin Roosevelt did this to people earning $337,000/year (in today's dollars). You think 9.2% unemployment is high now, imagine 25 - 30% unemployment.
I hope more critical thinkers like this woman in the video not only study news but also history.

Our problem here is too much health spending, for many reasons.
tripletmomRN 7 months ago 2
@chwisch87
They will not link here.
tripletmomRN 7 months ago
@chwisch87
11.
"How Direct Primary Care Reduces Costs."
"We lower costs for primary care by around 85%. Getting rid of the overhead associated with billing and filing claims is a big part of that. Also, getting buy in from specialists and ancillary service providers to give patients “cash up front” discounts for paying directly can reduce many of these costs by a similar margin."
To be cont.
tripletmomRN 7 months ago
@chwisch87
10. In other words - We would have to pay MUCH LESS for 307 million Americans than we currently pay for 93 million Americans.
Our single payer friends want us to believe that we can LOWER that $1.083 Trillion dollars in government health care spending to avoid going broke, while we simultaneously ADD the remaining 214 million people despite the realities of the way we live (obesity, alcohol/tobacco, violence, etc.)
tripletmomRN 7 months ago
@chwisch87
9. We have heard the CBO, this president and past, economists, etc., tell us that the govt health care budget is bankrupting our country. So we HAVE to lower that $1.083 T from our govt budget.
Consider a single payer system, like Canada or the UK, in the United States:
To have a single payer system, we would have to LOWER our $1.083 T dollar health budget, while simultaneously ADDING the remaining 214 million Americans to that government health care budget.
tripletmomRN 7 months ago
@chwisch87
8. More numbers: Government health care spending rises faster than private insurance:
2009 - Medicare spending grew 7.9%
2009 - Medicaid spending grew 9.0%
2009 - Private health insurance spending grew 1.3%
tripletmomRN 7 months ago
@chwisch87
And the gov spent much more despite the fact that all of their programs already have strong cost controls built into their systems.
tripletmomRN 7 months ago
@chwisch87
6. We would most certainly agree that spending must be reduced in this nation in order to control costs, but government does not seem to be the answer to that, according to actual numbers, shared here:
2009 Data = 307 million Americans
Insured status:
50.7 million uninsured (16%)
194.5 million private insurance (63%)
93.2 million government insurance (30%)
Total spending on health care in the US in 2009 = $2.5 Trillion dollars
tripletmomRN 7 months ago
@chwisch87
For the people who want to make our own life/death decisions, we should have the freedom to do that.
tripletmomRN 7 months ago
@chwisch87

@ACRScout57 What's your problem with liberals, man? Look at what Bush did to Walter Reed! Thanks for your service, though.
MEpianist 11 months ago
@MEpianist - Walter Reed is an example of government run health care. You may trust Dems and therefore feel compelled to give them great power in health care, but the party or people you trust when giving that power cannot be in power forever. Once you have given government the power to provide it, the government also has the power to take it away. If you understand that our govt runs health care poorly, as you seem to, you should be fighting against them gaining power over the rest of us.
tripletmomRN 11 months ago

Bush didn't do anything to Walter Reed, which was part of the problem. Walter Reed was not the result of any one administration, it was the result of long term neglect by all concerned.
ACRScout57 11 months ago
@MEpianist My problem with liberals is the disingenuous nature of their actions. Carter, one of our most liberal Presidents, drained the Armed forces manpower. Liberals, even today attack Reagan for spending too much, and raising the deficit, yet Reagan's spending would never have been needed if it were not for Carter's policies. Clinton conducted a similar drain of manpower from our intelligence gathering abilities, but Bush caught hell for not being prepared for 9/11.
ACRScout57 11 months ago
@MEpianist Now Obama is both emploing the tactic of stretching our forces to the breaking point, while cutting simultaneously cutting their funding, and even freezing soldiers pay to pay for his social domestic programs. Programs that were proven failures under LBJ, but Obama sees it as his job to reinvent a square wheel.

She is a nut if she thinks the past two years have been an expansion of LIBERALISM. Christ almighty.
MEpianist 11 months ago
@MEpianist - Actually, I did not say liberalism expanded, I said liberal power expanded. Even if the Dem party is less liberal than you, it would be impossible to argue that they are less liberal than the Rep party, though I would be willing to listen an attempt. If you feel the Dem party did not expand liberalism, that is for you to decide, but that does not reflect my statements here. Thank you for your post.
tripletmomRN 11 months ago 13

MEpianist 11 months ago
@MEpianist A point you neglected to cite, is that Romney tried a localized version of Obama's socialized care, aka "single payer", in MA and later stated that it was good in theory but a disaster in practice.
Also that Obamacare is not the end product, it is merely a charade designed to fail, and bring he system down, in order to pave the way for single payer.
Meanwhile Odimbo and Hillarity are still trying to sell the tainted snake oil, marketed in the same old bottles with new labels.

Where I think we might disagree is on climate change and health-care, but my position is socialist there -- we must control inefficient externalities!
MEpianist 7 months ago
@MEpianist It's Crony-CORPORATISM! Capitalism can not properly exist without the TOTAL liberty to self-police. Capitalism ONLY requires the State to defend the liberty of the INDIVIDUAL by NOT interfering except to keep monopolies from killing FREE competition.
"Progressives" have been using Gov't (the most powerful monopoly) for "redistribution" & “regulation for "justice" & "fairness" while pandering to "special groups" including unions, corporations etc since Wilson allowed the Fed!.

Ok, so the lefty lib democrats are wrong, but so are the righty religious conservatives. Both groups ignore/evade the two sources of the ideas that make America great: the first is The Founders, and the second is Ayn Rand. The Founders set political rules based on the idea that no man has a right to that which another has a right to take away (Jefferson). Ayn Rand explained why that view is morally correct, and proved it by working from the rules of reality & the rules of reason. Read Rand.

@BosPercussion
Don't forget Libya.

@BosPercussion
Considering that the quote consisted entirely of 2007 Obama spitting in the face of 2011 Obama and his actions, I'd say, yeah, I was bolstering your point.
