thanks for the clarification. I gosh, at this point I'd have a hard time negotiating twinkle twinkle. Gulli's sound production and interpretation are lovely though. He is not on the same level as Kogan - my favorite.
Great. My favorite place is from 8.17 to 8.50 in this piece, it's so beautiful. (This pentatonic flageolet short passage is like a cowboy whistling.) :)
he doesn't move at all.. :O that's how good he is lol jk

Aside from Rabin,Szeryng, and Heifetz-Hassid and Hirschhorn were the very best. IMHO Hassid,Rabin,Hirschhorn and Heifetz were the very best.ever.

Certified Intergalactic! I move that a star be named after Kogan. The Kogan Star.

I hate all of Kreisler's arrangements. His editions do no make sense musically. Accardo's version is the best

Our life does not have enough hours to practice violin to reach his level.

I know one guy who can already do that one double harmonic of the lowest G#/B third. He may even go beyond

tell me about it..I am working on it and just getting it perfectly in tune because of all the chromatics is murder. Mine sounds nothing like this!

I am a Kogan worshiper. However, I think Franco Gulli just about matches Leonid the Great in this piece!

What is amaizing???To play double flaeogoletts with tempo of peasant cart!! It is a timid attempt to perform Paganini!
hvassilev 3 years ago
true id rather hear Vasco Abadjiev play it at a lame tempo on a scratchy recording

Vasco is one of the est Bulgarian violinis. (old school)

double armonics are just a circus anyway ... nothing too nice musically and sonically ... just squeezing ...
