Nah, I want something more versatile. Just kidding! I'm driving an Outback now, but the Forester may be my next car. It seems to me that the new Outback is tending towards luxury, whereas the Forester leans towards sportiness and fun.
My Forester is the best vehicle I've ever owned. It has gotten me home in treacherous weather, when most cars had pulled off to the side of the road. More than once its awesome suspension helped me avoid hitting a deer that jumped in front of my Subie. Thanks for the great vid!
Nice car and nice driving. I used to drive my first car like that. My tires were squealing on every turn. Than I had an accident and I've been scared to drive like I used to ever since. Now I drive really slow. But I miss those days :)

Nice video. I have a feeling my 1984 AMC Eagle Sedan could handle this,first AWD crossover mass produced,rear wheel drive when AWD is not engaged. It is what Subaru copied after Chrysler bought AMC and canceled it.Made 1979 to 1988.Looking forward to winter here in Indiana,weather predicts we are supposed to get some of the worst lake effect snow we have ever had,good thing I got the Eagle and sold my camero.Subaru is not original SUV Alternative.
@TheSaltySea I've just sold my impreza for a forester.. but, trust me, in offroad there's no comparison between forester and jeep wrangler or suzuki sj ;)
@dialogoinconscio i don't doubt it. The only reason I don't buy a soobie is because I honestly think they're overpriced. I can get a very good VR6 or a BMW for similar value, and considering daily use they're just better in my opinion :S
I have a 99 Forester S.. Other than regular maintenance I paid 400$ for it at 270,000km, and it now has 472,000km!! And I sure prefer to ride in it than ANY newer plastic 1-wheel-drive car... And show me a BMW SUV that starts even close to $19,000, which is the price of a new Forester.. VW's are expensive to maintain, and BMW's are just expensive period.. Subaru is the only way to go
@cj7135rocks ahahaha bmw suv are GARBAGE. VW's are by no means expensive, they are designed (for the most part) to be economy class cars. Toureg in my opinion is better, but my argument was for cars.
@cj7135rocks and absolutely everywhere too, snapped a timing belt because the last owner was cheap on fixing it, bought an entire 1999 forester with a good engine for 500$, paid itself back in parts and scrap.
It has many thinks. The most important, new JE pistons, carillo rods, cosworth bearings, sti cylinder heads, amr t-50r turbo, cobb exhaust, spec-c 6mt transmission, f/m greddy i/c, etc.....
i love the parts where you drive into the oncoming lane on blind corners. that's pretty sweet.
