I agree. There is hope though, I am actually translating the series for my parents, who, while not fundamentalists, are sometimes borderline. I hope they will understand ... "why do people laugh at creationists" :)
Good luck. I never argued with my mom really about religion, I just let her have her beleifs. Oddly enough, in the end, I don't think her beliefs really comforted her. Deep down I think she thought I was right anyway.
Fundies will only understand this if you make it into a coloring book.
