I think the whole story surrounding MU, inspired by James Churchward, is part of the 'placebo effect' of spiritual healing; MU, as a myth or reality, is also a meeting place of art, hope, desire to know oneself and a desire for wellness - all these forces, ideals, etc. come into play when trying to relax and make sense of oneself and bodily functions (when they become dysfunctional). The belief in MU is a belief in wellness, and I guess aliens help, too; like angels, powers other than oneself
