  • look up How to Choose the Right Power Supply on youtube its a video about psu by TigerDirectBlog

  • the moral of the story is the more wattage you have the faster your computer will be

  • Title: "How to Choose the Right Power Supply"

  • @BeefTorpedoes True, but Corsair makes great PSU's

  • I'm buying a new pc and i don't know what power supply i should buy.

    These are my pc specs:

    Intel® Core™ i5-2500

    ASUS P8H61-M -=Rev.3.0=-

    Kingston ValueRAM 4 GB DDR3-1333

Please message me about what power supply i should buy. Thanks

  • @jjeerrooeenn11 id say 700-850 psu

  • i have 650 w double fans

    mode noisy and silent mode

i am afraid to use silent mode for games any one help ??

    my spec hd 4850 c2d e7500 2.93

  • Wow... you should change the name of your video from how to choose a power supply to Buy Corsair power supply. Your video does not explain how to choose a power supply for systems with variable hardware setup, but rather how many ports a Corsair power supply has. You're not telling me how to choose, you are telling me What to choose. This video should be labeled as spam.

  • i really need help. i have a desktop pc with the following specs:

-Intel Core i7 CPU 860 (CPU SPEED=2.8 GHz Performance Rated at: 7 GHz)

    -7.0 gb ram

    -GeForce GT 240

    -HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50 ATA Device

    -antec power supply 650w

the problem is that i bought a GTX560 Ti and when i connect it to the pc(after disconnecting the other GPU) it says that there aint enough ppower... can someone please help me and tell what power supply i have to get? THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH.

  • @Dynose get like a 750-900 psu

  • @Dynose dude did you even watch the video.,. just use the calculator thing he talked about and figure it out yourself!

  • mine isn't coming out of the wall dude....

  • Does it fit on a HP Workstation xw4200 and does it meet the requirements of a Intel Pentium 4 3.20Ghz?

  • LOL he said 'Your gonna get that head-shot' and at 9:11 he got head-shot from the cable :D

  • At my mum's work, loads of the PSUs in the computers there went pop, and some of them smoked!

  • so what if you your power supply has more watts then you need? does it matter?

  • @pcigroot No it doesnt. The power supply will draw only as much power as is being used by your components. If you have a 850w psu, your psu will not always draw 850w from the wall, that is unless your computer is drawing 850w.

  • mother board= 50 watts

ram 50 watts(this is the maximum amount)

    fans 5-8 watts a piece

drives = 25 watts apiece (optical and hdd)

cpu = tdp(depends on what you buy)

    newest video cards =230 watts+

then account 20% to total will give you the minimal psu you need to build a system.

  • so where is the link?

  • I have a quad core processor on a micro atx with a NVIDIA 9600 512mb a 320gb hard drive 4gb of ddr3 ram with a disc drive, is 480 watts enough for this???!!

  • @azerskater whats the wattage for the cpu?

    how many fans?

    video card is around 175 watts + cpu + board + fans + hard drive(25 w) + optical drive(25 w )+ram

  • bitly didnt work :(

  • what would be your recomende price on a power supply

  • i dont understand the Link :(

  • what a great piece

  • Ultra has Lifetime and I never had a problem with them.

  • @Zraupp10 They are alright for the price but also consider that the wattage on the 12v rail is only usually 2/3 to 3/4 of the total rated wattage of the psu. This is important because th only power demanding componets use the 12v rail so therefore you want as much wattage on the 12 v rail as possible. The corairs have almost 98% on the 12 v rail most of the time. Corairs are more expensive but worth it.

  • people say the hp power suply for comps are bad but really.. they're not it was a proven form of taking less power that worked more than fine and did not need more. It was a form of power taking without flaw ( unless ur a serious gamer lol) and is fine as it is

  • Great Review. Finally a review that doesn't sit there with the box in hand reading.

  • Na..Just get a 1500W PSU and don't care anymore in 3-10 years..

  • What do you guys think of the XFX 850W Black edition PSU?

  • ok but he doesnt say things logically. he is talking like we are dumb people.

  • Here's the link to the calculator...

    extreme.outervision(dott)com/psucalculator.jsp

  • you should do a slow-motion of the hit at the end. Good vid, but too long

  • My TX650w just came in today, now the warranty, do i have to go to the website and enter the serial number anywhere? or do i just tell them the serial number if i have to get it replaced for a new one?

  • Gee could you ride corsair's dick any harder? any entire competitive market out there and ofc like tigerdirect usually does. they mention 1 name..

  • The link he said didn't work =( i wish he would put it in the description.

  • LOL the thing whooped him in the head an he just continued like nothing happened!

  • do i need an expensive power supply if i don't play games (i have a mainstream graphics card)?

i am producing music (hobby) with my pc (of course good soundcard).

    thanks

  • Tiger direct is sucking real hard.. These product reviews consist of mostly useless items such as HDMI connections which are self explanatory. Thinks like Ac Power adapters and laptop cleaning kits. Also spelling mistakes all over the place. The biggest problem is the lack of tech updates and when there are, they are short and suck badly. Tiger direct you better get your act together you are really pissing people off and loosing customers

  • What is your opinion on Kingwin power supplies?

  • If you dont buy one the follow PSU's then your PC is going to FAIL soon. Here are the Brands:

    -OCZ

    -Cosair

    These 2 are the BEST!

My favorite is an 700W OCZ PSU for $89.99. 700 is enough for quad sli easily.

  • @amoghthegamer i just ordered the TX 750w Corsair. Can't wait till it gets here!

  • @saikimimaru

good choice. What kind of PC you building? Specs?

  • @amoghthegamer AMD Athlon II x4 620 @ 2.6ghz, Still on the hunt for a graphics card , This PSU almost broke me lol, on a budget. 4gb Gskill ram, Seagate 500gb HDD,

  • @saikimimaru

    If you have under $200 left for a GPU, get a Radeon 5770. If you have under $275 to spend get a 5850, under $325 get a 5870, and under $400 get a 5950. : )

  • @amoghthegamer The Radeon 5770 is looking really nice.

  • the best most inexpencive one i found is a XION PowerReal AXP-850R14N 855w. got it for $69 from newegg

  • 9:08 lol epic fail

  • give the link in the description for god sake

  • what the ipad?

  • DON'T SKIMP ON THE POWERSUPPLY!

  • did anybody get that link he said?

  • more time playing video games :D

  • got a iPad allready

  • Zalman is good too.

  • My god I think the host actually used the Ipad for something useful that could be used for quick and easy access that allows a straight recording session.

He has answered part of the question of what to use an Ipad for.

  • my cheap power supply fail about almost 2 year of buy so im preaty happy

with the result ;P, and i do overclock. But if you can purchase quality is the best option.

  • corsair ftw

  • well, i guess i'll be getting a Corsair then

  • I have an Ultra X3 650watt Black PSU, and it has done really well, and stayed cool, for the money i would say go for an Ultra PSU or an Antec PSU, with a good Antec case, like the Antec 300 for a nice budget gamers build. :-)

  • Those are very good PSU's, i have one.

  • I like these new advice vidoes. Saves me from having to explain to new guys. I just give them the link. When i'm looking for power supplies, I always make sure it has dual or multiple rails, and also Active PFC. (helps with efficiency) I like modular too, because i only use the cables i need, but some argue that it would hurt efficiency. I dont really think so =/ Albert looks older with that hairstyle lol

  • lol i did that calculator thing and it says im using 841w and i have a 1000w psu so i think that im good

  • That's not a fully modular power supply...That's a semi-modular power supply...

  • I had a 630W Xion power supply blow up... its was exciting lol

  • i need the link

  • ollolololololoololo 9:08 he threw the cable by accident and carried on as normal

  • @chaosquall1 rofl it hit him right in the head!! HAHAHA

  • @TheRomanCandle790 nah it didn't i looked like it did though

  • @chaosquall1 ROFL

  • this PSU with a HX750w power, Antec 902 case and a HD5780 = nice Gaming rig.

  • corsair threw a lot of money to get this kind of publicity!

  • way to show off your ipad!

  • 9:10 BOOM! Headshot!

  • how about a In Win Commander psu any good? thats what a i have

  • Comment removed

  • is a be quiet! also good ??

  • YEAH more of theese videos :D

  • more of this helpfull videos plz :)

  • great info. bad hair.

  • @rayza

    Agreed.

  • I have an OCZ StealthXstream 700 Watt any good?

  • Would the Ultra X4 series be just as good as the Corsair PSU?

  • @tklu84 corsair i think is better... they have excellent efficency especially the HX ones. also the OCZ ones, they have gold 80 plus rating for efficieny..

  • i have antec ea 650 watt

i shoulda went with the hx 650 :(

  • @flashfith i got an ANtec EA-650

Enermax owns all of them ;)

  • I just got a 550W BFG PSU. It's a bit louder than what I like, so I'm thinking of returning it. Any thoughts?

  • CORSAIR has the best products.. high quality!!!

  • @HenryGAD

    indeed

  • what is the address he toke abut i can't follow him

  • I <3 CORSAIR

  • Nice review , and you used an ipad, lol!

Corsair is a good brand, but i also like enermax and cooler master.

  • make video abut over cloaking and video cards for gamming

  • Why do all the reviewers have overgrown nails????

  • lol, I got a feeling he did this vid just to show off his iPad ;)

    Thanks for the calculator link

  • @ozzyguy67 That's much more power than you need ;) You're good to go.

  • I don't like Corsair. The first PSU I bought from them was a piece of garbage.

  • Did they get rid of those girls?

  • 9:09 LOL!

Corsair or OCZ and your safe

  • Ive got a Thermaltake 650w, its very good :)

  • Awesome! i just lookt at a test on a site.. and corsair seems to be one of the best you can get.. im on my 2nd corsair supply.. had a TX750w before, that died.. thanks to my stepdad.. :P so i bought a HX750W this time, and The HX serie seems to be mutch more quite than the TX.. So yes, you should go Corsair, and you should go Modulair! THX for a awesome video! :)

  • I have a Corsair TX750w and I did the voltage calculator and it said I needed a 350watt or higher lol. Whatever i'm crossfiring my 5770 soon... hell I could probably crossfire 5870s and have enough power.

  • i got an i7 and 4850 1hhd ect

how much power am i using

    going to get a 1100w soon for new gpus 3x 5870 :P

  • @oOcrazy95Oo 3x 5870's? I'm hoping it's to write a article in a very expensive magazine, cus that would suck hard..

  • I've always gone for BeQuiet! Dark Power Pro power supplies :)

  • :)) ... one cable flied

  • @KBcraps on his head! lol xD

  • i have a OCZ 550W PSU and i haven't had any problems with it so far (1.5 years)

  • Corsair is good but outdated now; those platforms are over two years old. The Antec TruePower New power supplies are at the same prices but are much more efficient and offer much more power. An Antec TruePower New 650W gives more power than a Corsair HX650.

  • @r31ncarnat3d The powersupply in this video is maybe max 1 year old.. they came with a new serie of powersupply.. HX650w and HX750W and HX850W is all new! Before they had only HX520W, HX620W and HX1000W.. that where modulair!

  • @SweSparky The HX650 is based off of the same Seasonic platform as the HX620 with a few revisions.

And honestly speaking, there are better power supplies out there than the Corsair series but are similarly priced, like the Antec TPN 650W I mentioned. If they're the same price but one gives you more power than the other, why would you go for the weaker one?

  • @r31ncarnat3d you have the 650W antec? what amps do you got on 12V rail? :)

  • @SweSparky I actually have the HX620 myself. I keep in touch with the market though because I do builds for friends/family members, and usually have pre-made configurations in mind. For gamign systems, my current configuration uses the Antec TPN 650W because of its 80+ Bronze certification and its 94a on the +12v rail. That's not a typo, I didn't believe it at first either and had to check on two other sites before accepting it.

  • @r31ncarnat3d 94a on a 650w? let me see.. 94x12 = 1128w.. so you talking about a 1128w powersupply? 94a x 12v = 1128w.. :P

  • @SweSparky Why don't you just go look it up? A simple Google search will show that I'm not lying. Newegg, Antec, and multiple review sites will all agree on what I just told you. And the output is rated for continuous load @ 50C, just like the HX 650/750 is.

The reason I prefer the Antec TPN is because it has a much higher output rating than Corsair. Don't believe me if you don't want to, but everyone else says otherwise.

  • @r31ncarnat3d and btw.. my Corsair HX750W got the 80+ Silver certification.. :P

  • @SweSparky that is what I got.

  • ace 620w :D works well

  • If you don't have time to answer to all of your questions about what PSU to choose Albert, feel free to send some to me =)

    Great vid

  • primero!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Albert, bfbc2 rank?

  • How future proof are power supplies?

Thinking of gettin g a 750 or 650w and do you think it will last me 3-4 years?

  • @espn1337 For what it's worth, Ultra gives their power supplies a lifetime warranty so, theoretically, if it should ever fail, then the warranty would cover replacement. Not sure how they compare to Corsair, though.

  • @espn1337

It has a 7 year warranty

  • thanks man i was just to ask you about this
