it is possible to fake, the reason he would do it is to make it look like he is a big shot. plus, he probablly isnt playing what you hear. he has an accompianment with a recording of someone else playing so some of the big licks you hear probablly arent him

It would be hard to fake the trumpet. I did this all in 5 minutes after listening to the song. This is the 2nd take- all live! Watch the second half to hear me improv over this.

He doesn't have a "background tune" running.. He is using a loopstation on the go. In other words the "background tune" is the part he plays in the beginning, he just records it in the beginning and keeps it looping in the background. Hence all the fidgeting.

And yes this should be allowed since it's just like using another instrument.

Are you serious? Hoaxes pop up on almost anything a person can imagine. However, leaving hoaxes aside, technology has advanced to the point where its very easy to make yourself sound much better then you already are. That goes for singing as well as instruments. If you really want to show off your talent, doing it with no aid is the way to go.

The "aid" that he inserted there is HIMSELF playing. He's showing off his talent not only by performing this piece, but having the knowledge on how to loop himself to enhance his sound.

That doesn't change the fact that its taking away from the purpose of his solo. In a video, its important to prove that what your doing is authentic, otherwise its just some video. With the background playing like it is, its hard for me to tell weather or not that really is him playing it live, as opposed to a recording.

Well it kinda looks like he did the backing track himself, on the fly, with a loop station. Which would be allowed, cause technically his instrument would be "trumpet and loop station". And if thats true he could pull it off live so I don't see why not.
