my go this is so confusing. somehow I am spinning with my right backwards and when I try the "give me 5 from behind" it ends up forward. My brain hurts when I try to figure it out. T_T
alright, i posted this a month ago... i am SOOO much better now!!! i still have sock poi too, it just takes lots of practice and hitting yourself. For me it helps to turn your body a bit... after that try to spin like he does :)
Turning inwards gives you more range of motion than turning outwards.
The trick is: the way your arms twist is reversed if you do this exercise above your shoulders.
Think of your shoulders as a horizontal axis of symmetry.
Hold your right arm straight out to your side. Twist it clockwise and counter-clockwise. Notice that below the shoulders inwards is like counter-clockwise, but above the shoulders it is like clockwise. Get used to both feelings, gain control and happy spinning!!
Whoa 0.o I never realized that you could pass it behind your back in more then one hand position. I normally just wing it and hope the poi don't hit me in the face and don't pay attention to how my hands are doing it. Yet another GREAT video that goes back to the all important fundamentals!! Thanks again!!
No five for you

I drilled two holes is tennis balls and pulled rope through.
Works really well. I also made sock poi which, in my opinion feel alot more natural.
