One of the things that most people dont know about these fans that I know, (cause my grandfather had six of them in his cleaners and my parents had two that I have now.)is that if you turn the fan over and towards the front of the foot you will see a tab with a hole in it. Remove the foot, put it on backwards, then it hangs on the wall. Thats where mine are.
Nice fan! I notice it has the solid back on the motor, while your other one has the jet-engine styled air intake.
Too bad about the paint getting messed up. I've heard that soaking things like blades in Dawn dishwashing soap (with water) will loosen stubborn grease and dirt.
i have used simple green before.purple power is really for engines.I used it on my westy mobilaire though and it didn't affect it, so I will try simple geen.
I just bought one of these at a thrift store. Paid $20 for it, and it's rusty, dirty, and overheats.

Same with thecity. I noticed the wall mount immediately.

It is a GE Quiet Blade...not the most valuable GE fan, but certainly one of the nicest.

Those fans were dangerous for small children - the grilles are pretty easy to get past! lol!

Well after they stuck their hands in ti I hoped they learned they're lessons.

@themaritimeman Shoot, I've stuck my finger (accidentally) into this same type of fan, but it didn't hurt THAT bad lol

The low speed seems pretty quiet.

I guess Ge just changed the styles, and I'll try the diswashing soap.

It's tricky but just look for the screws behind the blades.

I would if someone would find me the right oscillator knob for this particular model.
