Get a Discover DJ($99 controller) and a cheap audio card (if you want to cue stuff up with headphones)... Not that much more expensive than DJ Hero and alot more fun.
Once your ready to move up go Technics(If you got the money) or Numark TTX's($400 a pop, but I've seen a set of 2 new ones for $665 total online). Then either get a cheap mixer or go for a Rane if you wanna use Serato. Otherwise, use Traktor Duo(Its alot cheaper).
guys im a REAL dj and one of the people down here said that you would pay like $1300 for a full set... realy dude i have a whole set with speakers and 2 turntables under $500. listen to me not him and if he wants to spend that much well you probaly would be buying one of those technics2 turntables and those are like MONSTER good but each one are like $600 for each includeing the mixer yea about $1500 bucks lol

mix is good. game, eh not so much.
Just like with guitar hero, the only redeeming value come from playing the actual thing. dont waste your money on this. buy some decks and get some vinyl and start from there.
You do realize that a real deck costs about ten times as much as this game right? Yeah, I'd love to get some turn tables and try it out, but I don't have 1300 dollars to drop.
yeessssssssssss oh please god, dj hero will be nothing without the foundation of what turntables had came from if electronic genres arent added into it, now CAST! you're godly might into the minds of the creators of dj hero and COMPELL them to add electronic genres into it :)
Unfortunately the corporations only care about money and not making a good game. Only Europeans would be cool enough to make a game including those genres.
well, to be honest... its looks boring on lower levels... id jump right into hard or expert (even if i do fail...). and idk much abou it, but so far, it doesnt really look like theres set songs, ive seen alot of different mixes with boom boom pow. so theres alot more variety to it if you can pick the 2 songs and experiment. sooner or later, they might have dlc, or have songs off your ipods to mix (theres usb ports on everything nowadays). so im kinda looking foward to this~
yea i hear ya! ima play it on easy for a few min. just to get the hang of the buttons then ima go straight to hard i dont think you can use the mixer on easy i hope you can pick your own songs i use to dj so puttin together songs will be no biggie for me
just look at guitar hero, it was ok when it first came out on ps2, then it became so huge & popular all over the world, I guess DJ Hero must have its own market, specially for scratchy/effects DJs out there or something... it can be pretty addictive, just like guitar hero to its target market :) well that's my 2 cents anyway :)
plz check out my song on my channel and let me know what you think, thanks.

I'd like to see just The Zombies' hit "Time Of The Season" vs Eminem's new hit "Beautiful" in DJ Hero.

agree, DJing came from hip-hop, DJ IS hip-hop so we need alot more, more Grand Master Flash, and there isnt even any Big Daddy Kane!!

hmm..
is this gameplay really fun enough to make the game more than a quick novelty though?
is there real challenge towards the end of the game, and will people want to play songs again and again because they think its fun?
danisnotonfire 2 years ago
i'm sure there is. besides, this gameplay is only on the medium difficulty.
