This is a beautiful song sung by a master! Dionne Warwick has a beautiful voice. She was very popular during the 60s and sang most of Burt Bacharach's songs.
It was back in 1992 or 1993 in an outdoors concert in Michigan, Dionne was performing and she and Bert had just gotten back together. I was waiting for her to sing Deja Vu as that was my favorite among her songs. She then sang Valley of the Dolls, and "brought the house down" It was so wonderful, and that is now my favorite song of hers.
@60otaku3 I readed this book, three years ago... I could see this film thanks to Youtube... And, the song of the movie inspired me to write many poems... Really, Jacqueline Susann, Valley of the Dolls and its movie..., and the song, changed my life totally!!!!!!! =)
A case in which the theme song is so good it makes the film memorable ... at least for me ... the closing scene wouldn't be the same without it .... thanks 60otaku3
@08shortstop i agree with u totaly , but i always found this song makes me incredably melancoly for some reason. It reminds me of my youth back east in halifax, nova scotia.
@ZombiedustXXX Wow. I was thinking the same thing right before I read your comment. I was born in 1964, and strains of Bacharach/David/Warwick and Herb Alpert were the background music of my early life--even more than the rock&roll my older siblings were listening to. It was so great, wasn't it?!?
Dionne's greatest and most memorable recording.

Dionne Warwick/Burt Bacharach/Hal David were such a great team!
I remember Dionne's voice on the radio, even before I started school as a child.
