Believe me... I watched a huge number of his games (in the Croatian league, in the uefa cup, in the euro qualifiers, in friendlies...). Van der Vaart (and many other players who are supposed to be superstars) can't compare to him. I've rarely seen Modric lose a ball, he always has a clear idea what to do with the ball, his passes are amazing, the way he controls the game, takes responsibility for the team. It is amazing! One thing he does lack though is shot power, sth he will improve in!
