No joke at all. Janet McBride is America's reining Yodeling Queen. She has been at it for over 50 years. Perhaps you should read the "Show more" section. Jewel is the daughter of the one and only Yodeling Slim Clark, hence her country music and yodeling background is just as authentic.
That might be so, however, your comment really come across that way. Yodeling is not exclusive to one country or culture. It sprang up in many world-wide cultures and forms, almost first as a form of communication. When it took on its musical form, all of us yodelers developed our own different styles. Janet's style is different from mine, as mine is different from Randy Erwin, Greta Elkin, McDonald Craig, Stew Calyton, Joyce Leonard, etc...
Sorry to hear about Mr. Ingram... Janet was a neighbor of ours when I was a kid--she lived directly across the street from us in Redondo Beach, CA (a real CW hotbed!). My own memories are vague, but my folks remember her very well. "Sweet" and "fantastic" don't begin to describe her.
This is indeed sad news. RIP John and my prayers are with you Janet. I know you are strong and with God's loving arms you will survive and continue your wonderful singing and yodeling for all of us. It's a sad day. :(
RIP John Ingram. This man was a treasure. He had one of the biggest hearts and brightest personalities I've ever seen and I'm honored to have called him a friend. My brother and I have known John and Janet for close to ten years now. Although he's no longer with us in person, he'll always be in our hearts. I know he's in a better place now and he can yodel with Janet from above. We'll miss you dearly, old friend.
Janet and John are totally awesome here. Janet has done so much to keep yodeling alive in this country. She is constantly tutoring or encouraging young aspiring yodelers such as LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Ware and many others. Thank you Mike for posting this and for your considerable contribution to yodeling. Yodelers are what make life really enjoyable for me. -JIMMY
Thanks Jimmy. Janet is one gracious lady. Another of her other former students, Randy Erwin, is also posted on my channel. We performed at one of Bart Plantenga's 2005 yodel lectures and had a really good time.

Thanks. She's holding up pretty well, under the circumstances. Please visit her website and let her know. I'm sure she'd enjoy hearing from you.

for those who know them, John passed away yesterday (12/22). Keep Janet and her family in your prayers, this is a rough time of year to lose someone.
