Paddy is a pure-bred AKC registered American Bulldog who will be 18 months old in a couple weeks.

He and abbie are still the best of friends. Our son's rottweiler died a few months ago from cancer, and we'll be getting a Mastiff puppy in a few weeks.... so i'll have some new videos soon, though abbie isn't a baby anymore and is a very active toddler. ;)

I also have an American Bulldog named Ali and he's wonderful with babies/toddlers/kids/anyone smaller than him. He's very gentle however if you try to hurt whatever baby he has adopted, he's coming for you! It's all about the training and we never trained him to be mean/vicious! Big dogs are gentle giants by nature.

Aww Paddy is amazing with your child. It's nice to see that not everyone deems these gorgous dogs bad. The only reason a dog becomes bad is because it's owners or someone frequently around the dog made it that way.. Very cute video, thanks for uploading!

I don't think we can fully understand animals. I think there is some danger in having a dog so close to a baby, anything can irritate him and he could snap. That's not a risk i'm willing to take if that were my child. Just my opinion.

@jcb82 That is just a myth perpetuated by people's ignorance concerning certain dog breeds. A well trained dog would die before hurting a member of his/her family no matter what breed of dog it is. Yes, there is a risk, but if this dog has been treated right and given proper obedience training I don't see the danger. Dogs are considered mans best friend for a reason, and they have over 10,000years worth of loyalty bred into them at least.

Awwww, we have a two year old pitbull and she is the same way with our kids. So sweet, they can lay on her, sit on her, push, pull, do ANYTHING and she just loves the attention. So gentle and never gets to rough with them. lol :)
