I just bought the new camaro and the best time I ran with it is 13 second flat. It beats the new Challenger and the new Mustang. The moral to this story is I have also the 04 Gto and the 06 Gto. My 04 Gto runs a 13 second flat from the factory. My 06 runs a high 12. Right now I have both Gto's running in the 10's with out nos. The only advantage to the camaro then the GtO's is that it is going to be cheaper to make the car run in the 10's because of the size of the motor.

03-04 Cobra is faster then the 05-09 Mustangs & Shelby's alike, the late 70s and early 70 camaro was faster then all camaro's untill 1993.

2002 SS has around 70less HP but it only weighs 3411lbs 2010 is what 3800lbs?

A fat driver in the 2010 & a small one in the ls1 SS would seriously be a race that the LS1 should win because 500lbs makes a big difference.

The Ls1 SS I can say stock will do the 1/4m in low 13s with a good driver, seen it many times. I like the 2010 SS but its 2 hyped.

the sts is a rear mounted turbo system. the turbo bolts up to the exhaust pipe where the muffler would and the intake pipe is run under the car to the engine, that way you normally don't need an intercooler unless with really high boost. also you don't need fancy headers or downpipes to attach the turbo to and it keeps under hood temps lower than a conventional turbo

Just goes to showhow much grunt a lightly modded F-body can put up! Owning/modding my LS2 GTO has taught me a lot of respect for the FBs...the lighter weight of the cars and the true airflow abilites of the LS1 are nothing shy of stellar.
