The fact that Tom Jenkinson uses his front room as his main recording studio environment is inspiring to many home musicians/studio owners including myself to be honest. I sometimes think that nothing decent will come out of my facility in my house but when you watch this sort of thing I have no excuse really :P Superb Bass and Drum playing here!
wow i predicted ppl were gonna talk shit about this before reading the comments because in my mind they're quick with instruments so that just means they're trying to hard, huh? hardly inspiration put into this, yeah? you're on a downward spiral of ignorance go pick up an instrument and see your opinion is just causing false interpretation for others eventually making others dim-witted and ignorant as well. don't spread your cancerous unsupported opinions
Wardancer: why do you think that anybody gives a f**k about what you think? Stop being deliberately overwordy and pretentious. You demean and cheapen perfectly good music, strap a pair on mate. Its people like you who clog up these comments forums with crap all the time that no one gives a crap about, so STOP IT
So let me get this straight. Wardancer used complicated words, and you took offense and ranted about him using words you don't understand. Then you claimed that using musical terminology somehow makes music cheap, and went on to claim that anyone who used it clogs up the interwebs with posts, while yourself posting a highly ignorant, pointless message.
@bobrind you stupid stupid cunt. someone makes a genuine comment abouth the musc theyre hearing which makes you (and me) feel stupid cos you dont get what he says. so you go off on a rant and clog up the page with your hateful bullshit that just distracts people from the video. grow up.
@bobrind I give a fuck about what he thinks =] and tbh I don't get how the use of complicated words can demean and cheapen music?? hmm now thats puzzler?
I would give up a lot to know how Tom thinks harmonically through pieces like this. Melodically, rhythmically and harmonically he is awesome. And texturally he is more experimental and yet paradoxically more accessible than any of the avante-garde composers I've been listening to. He's possibly the best musician in the world.
@o0hedphuq0o Totally agree mate. If he wants to play lead why doesn't he wank off on a telecaster or strat instead of a six string bass. He could put an otaver on it and get the same bottom end, then leave the bass to a real bass player. lol
I saw them live and SP did like an hour with just himself and a laptop . Then the drummer came on all SP did was give him a quick thumbs up and boom they were off neither missed a beat and the whole set. It was just as expansive if not more so then the piece their playing here . Two very talented guys at the top of the tree
wow, i didnt think the drummer was that great live but this jam is bang on it. we need an album of squarepusher and co grooves like this. absolutely beautiful
Someone should have told him about the drummer Zach Hill. That would have been so amazing!

I happy to see tom move his ways into the realm of the musician world, because it's getting really stale, too much tradition.
