How's the screen quality of the MacBook Aluminum contrast and color wise? I heard the MacBook pro has a better screen quality but really is the difference significant? Because for cheaper I can get the MacBook Aluminum from someone I know. Lastly, do you think the MacBook Aluminum (non-pro) is good enough for some non-professional photo editing like in iPhoto or Picasa? Thanks =)

Air has an external superdrive that is powered by the usb 2.0 it only works on the air usb and the unibody on the air and other new macs is better and will not crack. New macs are built better and No cracks!

I got the new Al MB a couple of weeks ago, and gave my old plastic black MB to my dad. I do miss the firewire and it was more expensive, but in every other way it is incomparably better. I think the price is reasonable the new top of the range Al MB is £175 more than the old black MB, £175 well spent!

no. the newer one has ddr3 memory, an led screen, nvidia graphics, etc. The old one has ddr2 memory, a regular lcd screen, and intel graphics.

firewire is a cable like USB but alot faster for mac user's. it takes infromation from your camera to the mac/PC. i believe PC user's can have it but it's mostly a mac thing. =]

there pricy cause they come with everything you need to use a computer. Music, photo, website and much more software. All microsoft vista comes with is movie maker windows media center and about 59 trail programs

Yep! But you have to go through a lot of crap. Apple did not send out there OS to other companys so you really are not suppose to install it on a windows PC. But theres a way. I will make a video on it soon. google it and it that will help you

i have the white ibook g4 and i have to say its not very good at all. firstly cuz its plastic its not as sturdy. the result was my disk drive warped after a couple of years so i couldnt put any disks in. Because its white it gets dirty easy. also the left part beside the trackpad gets hot so my palm sweats and it caused that part to be discoloured. also there is some dicolouration after while.

i was saving for a white macbook when my parents got me a stupid peice of crap windows vista!! i was pissed because i saved for 2 months getting about $1,200 and they wont let me sell this crap and get a macbook.

it even crashed twice and needed a new motherboard!i HATE windows. Will get an apple when i go to collage :\ 3 years away :(

I got the last design of the macbook pro 3 months ago, I think is better than the new one in terms of looks. as a graphic artist the glossy display is too reflective. speedwise is probably the same since I added extra 2 gigs of ram. hehe I love apple eitherway, I just hate that the price probably went down after I bought it. **&%*^

if i'd been living under a rock for the last 5 years, at first impression i would have thought the white macbook was the newer one. i think its a step down with the design. i know they have this whole "unibody" thing going on and its supposed to be sturdier and stuff, but it makes it look more generic and pc-like in my opinion..anyone else agree? no offense i LOVE apple!

I agree, the reason i chose the white macbook, other then all the apple features, was its different "look" compared to pc's. Like you said, it does look like the new macbooks took a step closer to now looking like a dell, or any other average computer. It sucks, i love my white macbook because it looks so sexy.

If the price didn't get an increase (it did in Australia, but I guess that's due to how the market is going at the moment) I would buy one. I don't see why people are complaining about the new looks - it just proves my deeply held belief that it's more of a fasion accessory. Having said that, I love macs

great one, but i think it was an apple computer next to a peach because of the excellent grade build of the computer(compared to windows based computers). And the mic on the camera isint the best for picking up sounds so sasquatch crashing through the ceiling might sound like an apple(fruit) falling on a table. it all depends on how you perceive it..
