  • well i cut out 1 of the cats ran 3 inch back to a y pipe and have duals but i def wanna cam it this spring it needs a little more power lol

  • i got a 96 f150 with the 351 in it can you do this with the maf or not? people say it wont idle. also do you have any cats in there? or did you just bolt on the muffler?

  • Its suppose to work better with MAF. The cam recommends MAF. No cats, and full 3 inch exhaust with flow 40. And it idles for me.

  • @probey1989 MAF is the only way to go on F Series trucks when modding, otherwise you'll be spending a lot of money on programming it to run correctly.

  • @probey1989 I cammed mine on speed density and had idle problems, there is an adjustable plate you can put behind the IAC valve...solved my problem...MAF is def the way to go.

  • i was goin to put a x303 cam in mine what all do you have to get to put it in

  • Damn how are some people getting lucky running these mods on stock speed density... My Lightning is jealous.. I want a nice lopey cam but I cant afford a MAF swap right now.

    Very nice.

  • how do you like the cam? hp/torque wise what is it like and where does the power start and end at? im thinking about getting one of these cams for my 1988 f250. the 351w is a rollor block right? do you know if there are going to be any issues with clearances and what not on my otherwise stock engine? also im converting to mass air before hand i was told this cam wont idle on the speed density

  • sup sackman, not sure if you remember me or not from FSB as im not there anymore...anyway im doing a rebuild and was wondering what the biggest lift on a cam without changing injectors and all that other shit.

  • what other parts are interchangeable? like upper and lower intakes, cylinder heads?

  • 5.0 cylinder heads have to be drilled for use on the 351W. Intakes don't interchange due to deck height. Timing cover's interchange, just make sure its for correct water flow. Oil pans are the same. Distributors are not interchangeable.

  • @sackman9975 i gotta 87 f150 and was wonderin what all you had to do to put the cam in any mods or is it as simple as gettin it and puttin it in

  • Gotta be at least a roller block. Unless you get a set of linked roller lifters. Not everybody will get the same results as me either.

  • where did you find the e303 cam for a 351? ive been looking around and all i find is the cam for the 302

  • Same cam. Because it say's 302, it's interchangeable with the small block Ford series

  • hey i gotta 94 bronco with the 5.8L im gunna get the ford racing 303 cam and i was wondering if you did anything to the valve train i mean im gunna buy springs and shit

  • the 95 5.8 was mass air

  • @greggk13fox

No, the majority of the 95's were not MAF, they were SD. The California models were MAF. Please know what your talking about if you plan on posting something.

  • i apologize i just did look that up and you are correct. but one thing don't be a cocksucker on here. its one thing to correct me on that, but being a dick is totally different. by the way the bronco sounds great. any idea of where your hp and torque are right now? btw we are both members over at FSB

  • I don't know where you think I was being a dick or a cocksucker, I absolutely am neither. Maybe it was the tone in the text....(*shrug*) I was just telling you that you can't tell me what I don't have. I haven't dynoed it, but I gotta be up to at least 300HP and at least 375-400 ft lbs of torque. FSB Rocks!!!

  • how is the acceleration? what about the low end torque

  • acceleration......great. I can even bark my tires at 25 mph while dropping into 1st and punching the throttle.

Low end torque is great. I tow here and there and really can't tell there's a load behind me,

  • with that cam did you have to send the computer off or did you leave tha computer alone

  • I left the computer alone, it is the stock computer. It also seems to take a week for the computer to learn the cam (especially after a battery disconnect). During the first week, it does stall every so often. After though, it does not stall out at all.

  • hey man, im seriously considering doing this type of cam swap on my SD bronco, but im mainly worried about my low-mid range power as I am also getting larger tires. How does this cam do in the low end? otherwise, any suggestions? Thanks

  • Is it really speed density or is it mass air?? I don't see how it could even idle with speed density and the e303.. Just wondering what your trick was if it is speed density lol

  • Yes its speed density. No tricks, just proper timing and installation.

  • that sounds so sweet man!!! i cant belive it works with the speed density crap. what are all your specs on the truck and engine

  • All the specs are pretty much listed. 351 w bored .030, E303 cam, heads milled to 59cc, 3 inch single exhaust with flowmaster 40

  • Perhaps you do need to find another exhaust shop. Not one of those famous TV ad type shops. Yes 3 inch full exhaust with custom Y pipe.

  • Well I didn't do alot of research. It was xmas week last year and I had to replace my intake gasket as it was leaking. I went as far to replace timing chain as well. So I decided to replace the cam too. I looked thru the ford motorsports catalog and this cam was 50 states street legal. I was told it had a nice lumpy sound. The power range starts at 2500 and goes to 6000. I had a 3 inch full exhaust done and honestly it only takes a second for the motor to reach 2500 rpm for the power 2hit

  • i wonder if i could make my 5.0 sound like that...lol

  • LMFAOOOOO that's great

  • they told me that the alpabet cams are lazy for big trucks is this true? does it have good torque?

  • Real good torque. Alot more than stock but also I had my heads shaved so thats plays a part in the power area too. I'm happy with my results.

  • Any Changes in MPG???, stock lifters??....what is the bare minimum that has to be done to install this cam.

  • Well I can't realy say anything about MPG yet as I haven't actually taken it on2 the freeway for a trip. Won't be long though. Driving around town and can't keep foot out of it. I reused my lifters, after a REAL GOOD cleaning. Bare minimum, depends. Your valve springs should be replaced if stock because of the lift, but I did a complete tear down and rebuild which I would recomend. I also have a 3 inch full exhaust with flowmaster 40 that realy opened her up more.I still need 2 post a rev video.

  • I'm running it with stock everything except K & N air filter. Timing is set at 12*. People say it can't be done without the motor falling on its face with speed density but maybe they don't know what their doing. It works for me and LOTS of power. One problem I have is that ONLY when I run my A/C or my defroster, the motor will sometimes die at an idle. Otherwise NO ISSUES.

  • Are you running the stock speed density or an upgrade.

  • its running on speed density

  • Sounds good man, I'm thinking about doing the same thing to my engine once it goes.

  • damn dude for jus an e303 cam she sure does lope. sounds bad ass but like he said lets hear some revs.
