Was a good watch, I was a raver back then and to be honest remember very little about the whole period of my life, the time would go so fast before you know it the sun was up!!!
Im now 40 =( but glad I was there at this time to experience the culture
no 1 cares? only newspapers. tv, radio.. no 1 cares .. the story even reached australia.. now this documentary... typicl media propoganda, Turn your tv radio off!!
Thats whats hapening now, drug scene takin over the people and the need for a quick buck takin the groups than promote thier events and some of the dj's too..
Too much coke and X-Factor these days - Freedom to Party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for uploading this - I started raving in 89 and finished in 92 when everything got too speedy - will show this to my kids one day (if they're interested) Many thanks again matey.
I've been to MDMA parties before and have always prefered them to raves, despite the smaller number of people, for exactly that reason. MDMA is a love drug. But when it's mixed with alcohol, coke, speed or all that other shit it becomes an annoying drug and I hate being around speedy people like that. There's a difference between speedy and energetic. MDMA = energetic. Coke = Speedy. Annoys the piss out of me. MDMA parties are always MUCH more fun...
It's Black Box - Ride On Time a huge club it back then, produced in Italy but in fact the girl just do a playback, the real vocal is sampled from discog diva Loleatta Holloway, without her consent or any credits, the original source being Love Sensation
i think it would be even better if they would take out the pop music shit and the tv stuff at the beggining and focus a little bit more on the countercultural elements, the part on thatcher cabinet changes was also annoying
totally agree, got back underground after the big partys " fair grounds" and all that shit, top times at the zap in brighton with the tonka soundsystem, wild on wednesdays in sunny bognor! "mensa" r.i.p.,,prachute club in pompey.......good times good people......house is a feelin!!!!!!
Liars, you portray yourselves as pioneers, yet I see by the footage you did not start until early 90,s when clubs were being run by criminals, people with an unhealthy love of money (were you sponsored by mcdonalds?)3:48 secs.'documentary' shows a raid @ my club. mentions undesirable elements, etc & suggests people like us ruined the scene, none of us went to public school but we were there @ least 3 years before you, public school boys rewriting history, there's a surprise.
i taped this off the telly :) wkd docu! bbc did it justice, shame how the sun portrayed the rave scene in there papers what was all the crap about E wrappers? lol...... acid house rules!
I draw your attention to the comments I have posted...This was not a 'wicked docu'...The rave that was being raided was mine and I can tell you that, that happened late '88..well before your public school boy heroes started..we started because we were enthustiasts..The people who started doing raves in the nineties-when many ravers will tell you,by then,it was all over-were money men..criminals..they were in it for the money...that's what ruined the rave scene
makes me so happy watchin this. just wish i could taste it there and then. too many different drugs round these days to get quite the same atmosphere.
0700 minutes in answer to your question, Beatmasters Feat. Betty Boo. Both on here, was her first hit b4 solo I think. I was only 8 in 1989 but have a gooooood memory!!

Does make you wonder why we can't just have epic raves every summer, life's too short to have only one amazing movement every decade

radio 1 cunts, never supported the rave scene, now they have all jumped on the superstar DJ bandwagon, they have also ruined Ibiza.

Such a shame when the criminals started taking over, spoiling it for everyone.
My clubbing days were in the late nineties which were fucking class but I do envy the clubbers of 89. They must've had it so sweet.

For real. Every rave I go to nowadays everyone high on amp, k, pipes, etc not even MDMA.
Lots of people fighting, little kids on meth, all kinds of shit. It's sad..
