  • fraps sucks.

  • 576p=OnLive sucks donkey ballz...

  • call of duty sucks! so glad they dont have it on here!!!!

  • Cloud servers are the future, although this probably isnt it.

  • @Demonragdoll wait a few years for the US to get outta debt and start a massive infrastructure upgrade so we can catch up to Japan in connection speeds

  • God i kinda wish they had arma 2 on onlive although i don't live in the states id say it would be cool

  • The FPS in Onlive is at a constant 60fps. The problem is the quality of your connection. Where I live we only have one cable company with internet and they throttle everyone everyday at 4pm till 11pm to the standard connection. Its horrible.

It played decently on my PC and I enjoyed playing Mafia 2 flawlessly with barely any input lag or streaming lag at all on a Toshiba NETBOOK. (However, I had to use a wired connection. D:)

And no, the monthly subscription is for the Onlive Microconsole.

  • Low fps.....

  • um ONline ima let you finish but 360 nintenddo wii and PS3 dont have to take 6 years to load and then lag

  • This is all great and everything, but what about these people with "not so good" broadband? And to pay a subscription for OnLive? I doubt there will be a lot of people playing this game, I'd carry on playing my PS3 and PC and enjoy the games I buy (retail copy) using PS3's and PC potential, not running of some server. AND I doubt that connecting your OnLive console in your PC will enable you to play with others who own a PC, so I don't see the need in buying one.

  • @mikejw721 lol dumbass there is no subscription and even people with shitty connections can play but its not exactly reccomended

  • wow if Apple monopolized on this first, they could've solved their issue with the lack of games on the mac.

  • Why people talking as if the idea is fail.... seems pretty solid to me. The only problem her is the crazy input lag that is almost under a second. They need to fix that first before i start paying for a subscription.

  • For people who are already PC gamers with high-tech equipment, this is utterly useless.

For people like me who got a laptop and just can't play the latest and greatest games well, it's a God-send. I like the service so far. A little hiccup every once in a while, but still fairly impressive. At least I can get Unreal Tournament III working on my computer.

  • Hey, why don't you record what happens if you click "Exit" on the main menu in onlive.

  • uh, yeah. About 5 years ago it made me laugh too :)

  • lol onlive actually lets me play this game. Now I rape at sniping in it

  • LOW FPS rate..!

  • "WHO WANTS SUM!?! >:D" That just made me lol.

  • i think it is a great idea and i hope onlive dosent fall flat on its face as it is very ahead of it's time for our broudband speed

  • What difficulty was that on 0.0

  • @TehNoobTrumpet

    average... ( 0:42 )

  • how much fps? 40?

  • @unnameddd1 all games run at 60 fps, if they cant do that on highest settings they lower them slightly until they do achieve 60.

  • wow! I'm definitely looking into OnLive now :)

  • You call this running well? The framerate is horrible.

  • @valheru1337 But think what are they running. In some years, with optical fiber and better connections the framerate issue will be solved...

  • @valheru1337 umm... dude, I have it, i run it on a MacBook Pro with an ATI X1600 and a Core 2 Duo 2.1 ghz and it runs waaaay better than this. the speed of your processor does matter a bit, but the only game that is significantly effected for me is Splinter Cell: Conviction, and even that is more than playable. I'm pretty happy about this cuz I've never seen games run like this on my computer before and I get the first year free, so it beats shelling down the cash for a new gaming rig for me :)

  • @valheru1337 This. Its not the framerate, first he had to record his screen through a program, which had to process/compress the video. he then took the vid and gave to youtube, which processed/compressed the video again. Not to mention capturing your screen while playing a game may still overload your pc.

  • Comment removed

  • @valheru1337 The framerate isn't that bad. It's playable. Not everyone needs 100+fps to play these sorts of games.

  • @valheru1337 lol dumbass this is a recording...everyone stop fucking thumbing this crap.

  • Well, it's the screen recorder's fault for making OnLive lag. If you try it for yourself, it has great framerate like how it would run on a high-end computer.

  • wow it seems to run very well. can't wait for it to launch here in the UK.

  • @skizm:

The signal doesn't travel with lightspeed. It would be nice if it would do that, but it doesn't.

As far as I know the signalspeed within a fiber optic cable is about 60-70% of lightspeed while in Copper Cables it is abotu 60-80% of lightspeed.

That is the raw signal speed. The data transfer speed is way below that in copper cables, because there are collisions and errors during the transfer.

Those are still only a few aspects...

  • Doesn't seem as smooth. Then again I'm not the type of person that this thing interests.

  • why don't you make a video on which you press a button, so we can see response time...I still haven't seen that type of video on youtube

  • @Bailey0aka0billy i don't understand where people are getting the fact that xbox live is more expensive than $4.95 per month, but if you pay 12 months in advance the REGULAR price is $49.95 which works out to $4.16 per month. however, you can very frequently get 12 month cards for $29.99, which works out to $2.49 per month, which is half the cost of onlive. i still think onlive can be worth it for some people, but it's definitely not cheaper than xbox live.

  • @Wobbothe3rd light travels 186.3 miles per millisecond. therefore, routing hardware notwithstanding, in order to have under 10ms ping to a server, which is more than low enough, you must be at most 1,863 miles away from it. since onlive says you must be less than 1,000 miles away, it stands to reason that they're taking the routing hardware into consideration when calculating that number. therefore, improving routing hardware will improve internet latency.

  • TACHYONS!

  • When can we play!? xD

  • Even when I play UT3 on my Ion-powered netbook with crappy 1.6 GHz Atom, I have less lag :|

  • Comment removed

  • Mo mo mo monster lag!

  • Ahh just buy the game for ps3 and poop on my head! :D

  • I don't understand people saying there is no lag.

There WILL be lag. It is impossible for there not to be. No doubt i'll have someone appear and tell me that i'm wrong, it's lagless etc. etc.

But i'm right, so just deal with it and stop trying to justify your subscription.

  • @WillP999 yeah like >1% of the time lol

  • @WillP999

Ofcourse there is lag, who said there isnt? but with the ever increasing speed of the internet the lag will not be too great to enjoy most games as of now, and the lag might be so low in the future with certain internet providers you can actually compete in multiplayer fps games. Please provide evidence of you disagree with this claim.

  • @Orremann Their servers have limited space. As more and more people start hailing this service for it's lack of lag, there will be more people applying to the service, thus increasing the amount of lag.

Also, Input lag is one of the most horrific forms of lag, and this service is based on sending input data.

Also, for the money you pay for the subscription and the games, you could have just gone out and bought the game you want to play.

  • @WillP999 So a 15 dollar a month subscription plus New games that are the same Price as used ones would add up to buying an xbox/ps3 and paying for an online acount?

oh wait ... no it would not

not to mention there's a promotion on right now that gives you the first year free subscription - just have to pay for games- and the second year can be renewed at just five bucks a month

and I'm sure normal monthly fee will change from 15 to a more reasonable nine or eight

  • @WillP999 But don't forget the $1000-$2000 PC that you'd also need...

  • @mMentzel

Actually, the games don't run at maximum settings. So really you would only need a mid range computer to run them at the graphical settings that OnLive uses.

Plus, if you build a computer for yourself, you can get a high range pc for alot less.

  • @mMentzel

just from the quality of this demo, it looks like onlive is offering an equivalent of $500-$600 range desktop PC, also note you have to run onlive on something, so there is a $200-$300 base cost. In my point of view, onlive gave you about $300 worth of value in exchange for whatever they charge monthly.

  • @WillP999 What about the cost of upgrading your computer every two years to play the latest games? What about playing every single game on your laptop as you are traveling all over the place? Maybe this isn't for the hardcore gamers, but there are millions of us who want to play the latest fps shooter but not enough to afford the latest gaming rig.

  • @WillP999 1. subsription is 5$ month for second year, the point of this isnt to save you money its to let you play on any device, lag free.

    2. as more people play, onlive will make more money, which they can then use to upgrade the server stations that are over-strained, which means indefinite play lag-free. So the lag level will remain the same, and they werent saving you money in the first place, (also, its cheaper then xbox live which a lot of gamers are already paying for, no longer.

  • @WillP999

thus increasing their funding and paying for improvements to their servers.

  • @WillP999

Cool, I just went and bought this game but i can't figure out how to install it on my ipad

  • @WillP999 really? there is no server lag or build uup lag with more players dumbass do research and there is no more subscription fuckhole

  • @Wetcamerainc lolumad

  • @WillP999 O rly? If people will buy it, then onlive developers will buy new servers. And what about your gear? Wanna pay shitload of money on your PC instead of buying onlive and its subsciptions?

  • @jur0slaw It's not sustainable. Simply truth, they get money from people buying games, when people are done buying their games that person is just dead weight. Eventually they will hit a player "cap" where they have all the users thay will ever have. they will pretty much go broke then.

  • @SnoweyMan111 Yeah, I know. But for majority of people changing specs of their PC every 3 months is simply not affordable. With commercial expansion of onlive, number of players will increase. And they don't get much money for selling games. They get money for subscriptions and such. Money from games goes to game developers.

  • @jur0slaw I bought my PC 4 years back of 400$. Havn't had to change anything, untill blackops came. And imo it seems quite affordable. If you have to change hardware every 3 months you're buying the worst possible stuff. Onlive will die. I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen soon.

  • @WillP999 Yes, you could buy the game from the shops but, One of the main aspects and the thing that really drew me into this product is that you dont need a high-end pc to play the games, And that is why im loving OnLive.

  • @Orremann However, i'm not doubting that this service might be great for some people, for example those with low end PC's, people on Mac's wanting to play PC only games, and people who don't own certain consoles and would just like to try out one game from them. I'm sure there are other situations in which the purchase is justified. I'm not against this service, i think it's some pretty cool technology, it's just not for me.

  • @Orremann The internet is NOT EVER INCREASING in speed. There are hard physical limits on the speed of light that no broadband can EVER surpass, no matter what.

Internet speed is not like computer speed, it does not just get faster with technology like a CPU or memory does.

OnLive is going to suck for 99% of its audience, and the business is going to fail. On top of all that, it's wayyyyyyy to expensive.

  • @Wobbothe3rd Way to expensive? It costs 4.95$ a month and that is less than Xbox Live. And the prices of the games will compete with Steam's prices.

  • @Wobbothe3rd i got the year free with 1 free game and it works great I have no lag issues and im playin on my laptop. Im playing games that a $1500 rig would be required. So I guess I belong to that 1%.

  • @Wobbothe3rd

How the fuck can you think that the light travelling in the lines is the bottleneck? The routers and the hardware that sends and recieves the signals can ALWAYS be optimized.

If we reach the speed of light for transferring data long-range the response time to a data center 500 kilometers away will be 1.6 msec. . See how there is place for speeding up between ~20 ms and 1 ms?

Get your facts straight before posting negative bullshit comments.

  • @WillP999 Part of the "no lag" thing comes from the fact that they don't realize the minimum requirements suggest being a certain distance from the distro center AND a minimum of a 5+Mbit connection to play. So yeah, if you meet those requirements, AND also don't happen to have something that can run this stuff already AND really want to rent your games rather than buy them, Onlive could just be for you.

  • Damnit wish I couldve gotten in

  • Onlive = biggest fail in all terms

  • @DerFreiegedanke no its deosnt lag at all its cool

  • Comment removed

  • @upunkpunk its not of the lagg that this system is crap

  • BOOM HEADSHOT!!

  • Is that game lag, or lag from recording?

  • So wait, how does this work? Do you get the files for all the demos as you install the Onlive client or something? Or does it "stream" the necessary files as you request them?

    It's way too fast.

  • @MiguelSly no streaming files. All the input is being sent to OnLive servers and they send you the image, no demo files, no installations.

  • @MiguelSly It's actually a new type of technology that is called a cloud. Everything is streamed to you, much like a video on youtube but in a game form. You don't even play on your own PC. You send inputs over the internet those inputs are pressed in a computer somewhere else and a video feedback is sent to you. All in a matter of milliseconds.

  • combo whore

  • What is your internet rated at? Mine is only 2.5 mbs would that be alright to play this?

  • @Bailey0aka0billy Yes. But the visual quality may be effected. the max is 3 mbs for a 720p video feed back the lowest is 1 mbs for a 480p video. So yours will be in between.

  • 1. You should give a review of OnLive.

    2. You should put your games on OnLive. That'd be awesome.

    3. I love Overgrowth. Get it done soon. <3

  • @WindWalker940 you missed the point of the vid....

  • @roryos never liked onlive so i made a point to this vid

  • @WindWalker940 nobody called anything skill in this video moron

  • @farter1a2b3c nobody called anyone moron in this comment section fucktard

  • @WindWalker940 *facepalm*

  • @farter1a2b3c um *facepalm* on you sir, dont just call people stuff

  • @WindWalker940 No, *facepalm* at your idiotic comment that made no sense.

  • @farter1a2b3c lets just end these pathetic comments of yours and go to bed

  • @WindWalker940 I cant believe you think its my comments that are pathetic after the comments you made.

  • @WindWalker940 no pic no proof

  • @chaosquall1 where did you come from? why would i need a pic, and pictures are usually proof, and why would i say that i have proof? whats wrong with you?

  • @WindWalker940 trying to show off with no evidence. It's sad, provide a video on it then ill believe you. kthnx bai

  • @chaosquall1 just stfu

  • @WindWalker940 I was not talking so how can i shut up? Get it right, I caught you out admit it.

  • @chaosquall1 im just gonna leave this hopeless kid

  • @WindWalker940 says the one that puts

    Hometown:

    Under you bed

    Country:Afghanistan

    in their profile? Grow up.

  • @chaosquall1 privacy is awesome

  • He's showing how quickly you can jump in. The FPS is obviously not his usual FPS as it's being screen recorded. I imagine he's actually playing on 60+ FPS. The ingame performance of UT3 isn't the subject of the video...

  • twitch accuracy ftw! :) this game is pretty damn hard if you've played counter strike for the past month :D

  • I guess if you're someone who is used to playing games at like 15 fps this wouldn't be a problem... I know I'm not that person so whatever.

  • Looks unplayable.

  • URGH looks smeary and has lag spikes.

Any good gamer would rage if it's as bad as this video looks. D:<

  • @RandomGamer1911 It looks better than this - It's 720p (a wii is only 480) if you have a 1.5 Mbs per second connection, That's normal comcast I believe, and if you have a fast internet like 5 Mbs you can get games in 1080 p

also I've been playing for a while and there hasn't been any lag ... at all

maybe there is in this video but not when i've played

    it's astounding

  • not bad skils just work on your accuracy and try godlike its fun XD i rule on godlike

  • Hows the delay???

  • badass skills, :P

  • looks less choppy than the previous video leaks a month back. i guess, either you're in a better suited location, either that or they improved their service!

wish i lived in usa right now, sweden won't get this any time soon

  • hows the delay?
