Awesome sound pitch there keep it up,you need to bring that unit over to Australia all the trucks over here are just show and tell trucks no proformance over here cheers.
Hiya there bud i'm a bit of a fan with trucks...Hey ask the driver if he knows my brother inlaw Nick name:HORSE he drive for cCc D/Shifter Drv's a Blue Mitshi and he pulling a 4axle multi.......From Rotovagez
Think it might be sorry, the engine has now been replaced with a brand spankers one, Wetas other two Argosys have now been sold and as far as I know he drives this one himself.
It has a cummins Signiture 620 or 630HP. We have all sorts. Cummins, CAT and detroit for the American gear. Hino. Mitsubishi, Izusu have there own engines with eaton trans. Mercedes, Scania, Volvo, Iveco, DAF have there own engine and trans.
Just got back to the UK from another trip to NZ. We had out a 6 berth camper. On the steep twisty section out of Napier to Taupo i had a Argosy on my arse for 2-3km where there was nowhere to pull over or let him pass. I was doing a good 90/100km/h too. When i was able to let him pass he was gone!. Serious horsepower under the cab. NZ trucks run it hard out!.
I work for linfox here in nz and we are limited to 93kph. we go as hard as we can with what we have. Paid by the hour so no need to break yourself really
Yeah, i just don't like to hold people up. You must see some of the dicks who drive them campers, they aren't arsed that the people behind them are working, while they are on holiday. Hey, the one thing that always amazed me about the trucks in NZ is the amout of day cabs on the road, hardly see any sleepers. Also, not many countries run 8x4 tractor units. Also, that Argosy i was on about was doing a solid 100km/h uphill - he must have been empty, goodluck to him!. My missus was going mental!
Yea we have strict axle weights as our roads arnt very strong. Alot of companies are running 8x4 tractors with 4 axle semi trailers. It works out one of the cheapest ways apparently. Haha that napier taupo rd is a shocker for f#%ken campers. Alot of trucks over here are 550hp+ so doesnt surprise me about doing 100kph uphill. most probly empty. Whitch company was it do you know?
It was a blue 8x4 wag n' drag, the name started with 'B' and ended in 'ich, i think it was around 8 letters long?. We missed the snow dump by 1 day, wouldn't have wanted to be stranded there!. Also, the other intense drive was coming out of Wellington, past Upper Hutt, towards Masterton - you know the 20km section on the mountain thats really steep, twisty and narrow?. Some of them trucks were taking a wide line to take the corners as we were on the left by the drop off!. Amazing amazing country
The Argosy is owned by Weta Haualage of Whakatane. Driver is Neil or Shanana. The company now has a second Argosy that used to belong to Ivor Gainsford.

I'ts a cummins alright. 630hp I believe. His second Argosy lost a couple of ponies overnight somehow and they can't find a remedy for it:(
