great review. I'm a wedding photographer and mostly use pro dSLR for photography. However, with the bulk and luggage that comes with dSLR ( full frame) it gets bit cumbersome.

Thus I decided to get myself and decent and affordable point/shoot with HD video capabilities. After much research, I decided to purchase panny ZS7 for its low light capabilities and stunning sharpness.

I looked at Sony HX5v and Canon SX210is. Both could not match the sharpness of the panasonic nor it's low light shoo

regarding video editing, can this camera take pictures from the video it records?

@BornDistracted Yes, the camera allows you to extract stills from your videos in its editing menu. Remember, however, a 720P frame is only equivalent to a 1 Megapixel image.

Great video...thanks! "Camera swag" love it! :) Does anyone know what the battery life is like on this camera? Also, what's the best way to get a lot of video time? I heard that even with an external memory card, you still barely get any video time.

@mileycyruslvr101 With a class 6 card, shooting AVCHD format, you can record a maximum of 30 minutes. Once you hit the cap, you start recording again almost immediately afterwards.

@elblack25 The ZS5 takes the same images, and all you use is the high resolution screen, stereo sound, and GPS. It's about $300 right now, quite a steal.

I think my ZS7 is making a noise near the len. I can hear it while taking video. It sound like a leaking sound. Does anyone that has the Zs7 having this noise? It get louder. I am thinking returning it back. I think mine is defect?

@NikolaiAK I actually think like that too. I brought my XS with me during my trip through Europe and I didn't regret it, but I really regretted not bringing a smaller camera like the ZS7 with me... It would have been so much more fun in the pubs and clubs. :(

I've been using a JVC HM700 with a Canon 14X F1.6 lens to shoot the videos lately. It's a great light package that shoots easily editable files. Thanks for watching.
