  • I remember hearing this around Christmas season 1965. That's tenor sax player Buddy Randell singing the Lennonesque lead, backed by brothers Beau & John Charles and drummer Jimmy Walker. I bought the Knickerbockers' "Lies" lp back then, but the store stocked only the mono version.

  • The very first three notes sound like the opening to "I Wanna Hold Your Hand". Also, the lead vocalist sounds like John Lennon.

  • Just this week, Kent was discussing songs that sounded so much like the Beatles that we thought it was the Fab Four. (Assuming all MM fans also follow forgottenhits d o t c o m)

  • I plead guilty along with everyone else, in that I thought it was the Beatles, too, when I first heard it on a local oldies station back home, when I was 14.

  • Sounds so good !

  • There are a lot of good songs about liars.

  • at age 11 i thought it was the DC5

  • I thought it was the Beatles also.

  • I also believed it was a Beatle song!

  • Great song!!
