buddy, its a big-bang. yes it has a crossplane crank shaft. but if you look up the firing order, cylinders one and three fire almost exactly at the same time-(5 degrees differences on the crankshaft)- then two will fire on its own then four. its a big bang engine when two cyclinders fire at the same time.

Yeah... I read the same thing, apparently smaller engines don't benefit as much from the cross plane effect. Still, since they say it gives you more torque down low I'd say the current R6 could use some of that!!!!!! If the R1 really sells as good as they're saying it will I think they might re-consider the cross plane on the R6 even if just as a marketing tool.

Yeah, like the other guys were saying, they probably wont use it beacause you have to run a counter shaft with the crank that would cost the R6 too much power up top. the R1 can lose a few and still run amazing lap times.

i do believe stoner's pretty good, he's always doing well, working very hard and making the team run perfect;he's also very professional (much more than hayden, not even beeing less funny).he also seems to be the only rider to be able to push ducati's desmo-core to its edge.nonetheless i don't think he's as skilled as rossi and i don't care that much.i just feel really excited from what i've seen in qatar: amazing race.hopefully we'll see some nice show from those crazy guys for the whole season
