I am the spouse of a person with chronic pain. There is a gross injustice and lack of respect for patients with chronic pain. It is wrong to require someone to defend their moral character to receive treatment. DEA regulations punish patients and support misconceptions. If a person abuses drugs, they will do it regardless of regulations. So, remove regulations and let the worthless pill-head be just that...worthless. And give respect & power back to the patients who need the medication.
I have the same problem, I am on codine sulphate, and valoum, and i have to do the same thing explain, explain, explain. I am a 100% sevice connected vet, usmc also, retired. the va thru me out, because all they were concerned about is themselves. i was on codine for over 20 years, he kicks me out and sends me a non-narcotic drug, tramadol...that stuff made me sick as a dog, would up in the hospital. I will never ever step foot in a va hospital again. I have M.S., but not your normal MS All pain
and over the last three days have not been able to get out of bed until after 1pm, pins and needles in arms, sciatica in both legs now, and pain in back, got me on 200mg/h Pain Patches, Anamorph, and a thing like lyrica, had to stop the 300mg of Tramal as was causing problems with sight.
OMG, I so Hear U, and I also get HOT sweats as where the nerve damage is...Not fun that's for shore, god speed, and god bless, hope tomorrow is a GOOD DAY!
I am hearing you loud and Clear, we have a simmillar problem down in Australia. I was injured in a bus as a passenger now more than 2 years ago, still waiting on settlement. I am ment to be working full time, but I have done one week since May09, and now on 4h a day till 18 November 09, but unsure how it will go, as now meds have changed can hardly move at all, have Chronic Lower and mid back pain.
I know what you are going thru I was in a motorcycle accident and I broke just about every bone in my body and had to have a hip replacement and a plate to hold my pelvis together. I live in constant pain myself and my Doctor worries about the DEA also! But you as a Marine should get what ever it takes for the job you did for all of us! We need to take care of our veterans much better then we do!
This is so true with our men that were in the service and are injured. We know James, he was a very buff man! My husband used to be a small buff man. He is now skin and bones! Always in pain. The VA makes our men beg for something that should be handed over, they are this way because of them!! INJURED in the line of duty!!!
