  • Should of started filming way earlier. We missed tons of footage.

  • I don't think there was any risk of climbing the rails due to the amount of snow. In my experience, the worst that happens in these situations, is that you can stall. We used to hit snow like this often over my long railway career. I always thought it was fun...unless we did stall.. I've been on trains where we hit snow up to the windows. I couldn't help but notice, before the train arrived, looks like some fools were either driving ATVs or snowmobiles on the right of way sometime earlier??

  • wow nice video thats alot of snow at the end it looked like the train was going into a culvert lol nice video

  • Ghetto Plow?

  • Wow! Great video and being from the east I always enjoy what I refer to as the real United States... the one so many of us never get to see. I had to put my heat up just watching this.

  • That was awesome! I imagine the train actually helped him a bit; giving them some momentum. Then again, who knows, especially with that hill behind them.

  • That's what SD40-2's does better! Long Life to them!

Do they modify the front of the engine in any way?

  • There is a "plow" on the front. Its only for light stuff lol.We get some good drifts on the former KC sub ( now its the Ottumwa sub) of the IC&E havent seen anything like this yet.

  • Kick ass! Love it.

  • Whoa! The snow was up to the windshield. 9000 hp and a lot of guts. The lead unit could have climbed the rails at anytime.
