@BigMrSox Yea, but the tiger had a serious flaw in mobility which is why later in the war, US had heavy hitting tanks like the slugger and pershing that could easily get flank shots on the Tigers weak 2 inch side armor.
@Freemon34Comms While that may be true, remember the Tiger I was designed in 1938 and saw action in late 41 early 42. Whereas all US 90mm MCG's, and tanks were fielded in late 1944. Also the Tiger's 88 still had longer range and better optics than even the Pershing and it's 90mm gun, so it would first have to ambush the Tiger before it got a shot off.
Either way, the Tiger II would be a closer comparison, and in that event my money would be on the Tiger II.
@BigMrSox optics and range are big factor but the turn radius on the tigers(mostly the tiger II) is the terrible turn speed of the turret, meaning if two tanks go after one tiger, one going left and the other right, the tiger was pretty much doomed.
@Freemon34Comms True that, the turret motors were too weak on the Tiger II, and to a lesser degree the Tiger I. However in ideal situations Tiger I and II's formed heavy tank battalions while supporting lighter more mobile tanks such as the Panther. The Panther battalions usually covered the flanks while the heavier tanks held the front line. That being said I wouldn't foresee any major difficulties in dealing with America Armor. Unless airpower is involved.
@BigMrSox Around 70% of all tank kills by the allies were caused by airstrikes and artillery only. Which doesn't say much about the quality of American/British armor.
But we were talking about tank-on-tank combat were German tanks and tactics were superior; as opposed to combined arms.
Well tbhm the max Hitler got was about 30% of the vote, he had a coalition with Hinderberg's party to get into a position to take control. So most Germans were not Nazis, and if they were often times it was because they were forced to. That said, because they ran the government their symbols were on everything.
thumbs up if you spoted the nazi sign on top of the tank no i do not liek nzi's i hate them im just wondering if anyone else saw the sign on top of the tank
@FreakyJake85 Believe it or not, the Germans were Nazis during the second world war. Therefore, in an authentic, to-scale replica of a German tank of that era, it wouldn't be unusual to see the swastika adorning some pieces of German hardware.
@FreakyJake85 Don't like Nazi's,but when I make models,I want them as realistic as possible. That might include nazi signs, flags and so on.Wouldn't be very detailed if not ya know.
@EvilFingers I agree I got a HL tiger1 Early prodcution, and its heavy in detail and WWII painted metal gearbox 3:1 ratio, metal tracks, with just the standard crappy smoke and sound setup! BUT I GLAD I just ordered a 1/8 scale King tiger (Henschel prodution turret) from a private seller!! THIS THING IS FUCKIN HUGE!! I 'll be putting all the bells and whistles on this one!!
@odgixxer I wouldnt say that the HL Tiger I is heavy in detail, since the Barrel is the incorrect length that it should be, the Commander's Cupola and the Port under the Commander's Cupola are positioned in the wrong direction, also the Gun Mantlet is positioned incorrectly as well.
That said, one would think that a company that is going to produce an RC WW2 Tank, they would notice their mistakes and correct them, but Heng Long hasnt.
@EvilFingers Yeah i hate that i corrected both of those lazy mistakes that they fucked up on, thx to the guys at rcuniverse! Its a very simple fix if your willing to rip the shit outta the tanks since it soo poorly designed, but after a month and a half of tinkering aorund demeling the crap outta it and switching the gun mantlet and bought the correct barrel length from Phil of RCtankwars and the commander's Cupola isn't too hard to correct.
@odgixxer I first used a small curved xatco knife around the bottom part to remove all the glue that they used then I used long nose flat grip pliers to remove it and reposition the opening hatch angle! Actually im not gonna lie that part was kind of a bitch to get done out of all these damn corrections HL made but it was worth it cause now it looks Official WWII era gave it a desert camo scheme, weathered, airbrushed!! But trust me i think this will be that last HL tank i buy! cant wait 4 BKT!!
@odgixxer Yup, rcuniverse is the site is where I found to correct those mistakes on the HL Tiger I, but the thing I really hate in making those mistakes are the Online RC Tank Stores, that have all the necessary parts accessories that are needed are located outside of the US, I mean there is one in the US that I know of, but their list of parts and accessories are Limited.
