People who say this is not an octobass should get their heads examined! It would be like saying apple is not a computer because apples are fruit.

Its called an octobass so it is an octobass, the fact that something else is also called an octobass is utterly irrelevant.

It is true that the Octobass is a string instrument, as previously stated. Nonetheless, you two do a marvelous job on this wonderful piece of music! Tre bien!

Some of the higher notes on the contrabass fute (or octobass as you call it) kind of sound a bit like a bassoon. Thats just my opinion

L'octobasse est une contrebasse géante de 3m50 de haut. Mais peut-être y a-t-il deux instruments portant le même nom, ça je ne sais pas.
