  • Hello Max!

I am a 2nd yr Engg. student in India in Electronics and Commn. My problem is that becoz of some reason I don't want to complete my remaing 2 yrs in India and want to finish them in Germany (was planning to do do my master's there anyway). So, could you tell me the procedure for getting admitted now in some reputed German University without having to start all over again i.e. from 1st yr itself. I am going to learn German here for the same.

    Hoping for a prompt reply

    Regards,

    Ifrah Alam

  • @Youmix93 Come to Getmany. You will find out how little you know :)

  • Cuuuutiepie! :D

  • @xorganizationxvx No. No you didnt. Stop trolling.

  • Also wirklich Max, mit vollem Mund spricht man doch nicht.

  • WTF ?! If you go to the bakery you mostly can try to speak english. I think if you keep the sentences simple most germans will understand because everyone here learns english but not spanish!

  • @shiloh1213 of course... beside that... german´s can speak english too^^

  • .........He's so cute, hopefully once I get my German down-packed, I will marry someone as cute as he was... *siiiigh* its going to take forever,

  • I'm Australian of German ancestry and I don't speak German.

I'm surprised at how many non-Germans speak German.

Is it a good thing? :)

  • I've been learning german and I find it kind of easy... kind of! My mother's language is spanish... I'm learning by a software, I do right the pronunciation and the listening. I'm using this channel to teach my ear and damn! they speak to fast! I understand just the 10% of what they say...

Well... I hope when I get there, I can find it easier to understand.

    so klingt es besser:

Danke für dein Video. Ich will in Heidelberg (Deutschland) studieren.

  • We had the exact same kitchen in our Studentenheim in Dortmund! :)

  • Damn, Max is sexy. I would learn German if I could date him. xD

  • @TheSunmanho This is your oppinion. don´t make it look like its our view on americans. It isn´t!!!

  • @SiggiNebel I was referring to using dirty words in german. In German they have more weight than in english and can be very offensive.

  • Would German speaking people mind it if I "half spoke English" and "half spoke German" to them? Or should I try to speak in either all English or all German to them? How much does this matter?

  • @Tchaikovsky09 You would probably get along with a mixtur of the two languages in daily life and I don't think that many people would mind, but still I would advise you to possibly try to say everything in German - in the run long, it's the easier way to the mastering of a language. Also, you would risk that many people answer in English which wouldn't really be helpful to you.

  • @Tchaikovsky09

no, you could surely communicate in a mixture of both of the languages with anybody!

  • coole software

  • @ichbineingummibear For me it is wrong to use such language. Although many times I've made the mistake. We have to remember that the German people ARE looking at us. And on some small level it will reflect our countries society. especially amongst older Germans. We have to remain respectful at all costs. Today I make thr promise to try harder. Are you with me? :)

  • @Kooshkff "We have to remain respectful at all costs." Wow, apoint of view that reminds me to the "white man burden". Are you afraid that we might revolt if we lose our respect for naive English speakers?

  • I know this may sound like a ridiculously obvious and stupid question, but is it possible to study German Language (as a college major) in Germany? Do they have programs for that or does it have to be something in science or business?

  • She learned to speak German like that in 6 months? Sorry, I don't believe it.

  • @Kooshkff

well, she never said she learned to speak like that in half a year :-). No one can tell you how long it takes until you can talk in German fluently because that depends on so many different things. Just get started and see how it goes.

    Best from Bonn!

  • @DAADBonn

I've been speaking it for 2 years. I'm stuck at B1 though. I'm pretty sure that knowing English is what is holding me back. As soon as I make a mistake people want to speak English. :P

  • @Kooshkff then tell them 'wenn du weiter Englisch redest dann kannst du mich am Arsch lecken'... or just refuse to answer them when they speak English. I do exactly that and I have very little problems with people wanting to speak english with me after. and surprisingly they take it pretty well, i think they're impressed that i still choose to speak german even though i could communicate in english easier. normally they grin and then will start speaking German. ;)

  • @ichbineingummibear

German is a beautiful language. I don't think I would want to any rude words. That wouldn't be doing it justice.

  • @Kooshkff to each his own. :) i guess it depends on your settings and peers. normally i've speaking with people from 18-23 so they find it funny when i curse in german with an american accent. :P but i understand your point. there's a time and a place for it.

  • @Kooshkff i've lived in Germany for 8 months now and my German was better than hers at 6 months... and i had never learned German in the U.S. All the German i learned i've learned here.

  • @ichbineingummibear

Have you been to many parts of Germany?

It sometimes happens that dialects can get in the way. Many people do not speak hochdeustch where I live. It's very common to here hear schwaebisch expressions and pronounciation. Ich becomes ish just about every time. :)

  • @Kooshkff yes, i live in oberbayern. :D i understand the dialect here. actually i live about 40 mins away from the part of bayern where they start speaking Schwaebisch but i've never noticed it, probably because i wasnt really speaking there (mostly shopping :P) but i also had a boyfriend who was from Frankfurt and his grandparents spoke hardcore Hessisch. o.O weirrrd stuff. :P I think dialects are beautiful, my boyfriend is bavarian and i beg him to speak it more often.

  • @Kooshkff If you really want to learn a language you can manage to reach a level like this. Of course you need to try to only speak the language even if you make plenty mistakes in the beginning

  • @oernsboerns

In 6 months it's very doubtful. German is very complex. It would require a very good school AND the dedication you just mentioned AND on top of that a very intelligent person.

  • @Kooshkff I learned to speak German in a week. It's easy.

  • @Kooshkff Yes... it is possible...:P

    German is not so difficult...really..;)

its only the grammar which is a little bit strange...:P

/But the rest of this language is very easy to understand

  • We have the same name but mine is pronounced lou-chi-ah(Lucia)

  • So basically im screwed 4 years of german for nothing

  • @WishMonkeyscanskype

no, you're not screwed. Actually the opposite is true because if you decide to come to Germany for your studies it will be much easier for you to settle in and understand typical customs much better due to your language skills. It's all good! :-)

  • @DAADBonn Ahh i just hope i am not :-) Thanks for your help and kind words many Greetings from ireland! :)

  • Comment removed

  • Umm this guy is GORGEOUS lol now I'm excited to go see my father's German roots for the first time ;)

  • he. is. hot.

    i'm going to germany

  • you're so handsome... I love you!! hhaha :D

  • ok, shes kinda cute and the girl at the bakery is kinda nice. what if your an ugly girl or guy speaking non german language in a crowded german grocery? will they still accept that or prolly speak english ?

  • @supertrex2 Hard to tell. It might depend on the kindness and politeness of the people in the grocery. Actually, some Germans are very nice and some are not. Yet, most of them won't bite, so it's worth to give it a try.

  • @SiggiNebel lol@ wont bite

    Dein study-in.de-team

  • yeah that s really f..in fast. it s supposed to slow. i couldnt understand nothing

  • ye that s really f..in fast . it s supposed slow.

  • I hope Max tapped that.

  • well, it has English subtitles so you should be able to follow along. You can always stop the video if it's too fast for you, too.

  • definatley thought this was gonna be in english. REALLY didnt expect spanish either... oh well, i guess i got to learn more before coming back to this video XD. thanks anyways

  • I really like this, the style is really cool and helpful because I wanted to study for a semester or a year in Germany in college.

  • She said that she took six months language courses at an adult education center without spend a lot of money, could you tell me please wich center is that?

    Liebe Grüße

    Anastasia

  • @ALIZINNIA

unfortunately not. What Lucia actually tried to say with that is, that there are various opportunities to learn German in Germany. Our advice: Ask your university for course offers or check the current program of the Volkshhochschule (VHS), which every bigger German city has.

    Best from Bonn,

    Your study-in.de-team

  • @ALIZINNIA It's called "Volkshochschule"

Saludos!

  • @lesliegaitanos Tu caso es simular al mio. El espanol es mi idioma nativo, and I've lived in the U.S. almost all my life. I will be moving to Germany soon for three years. I will have to learn deutsch, because I will be studying there. Hope you fare well. ^_^
