  • I have to take depression pills just to get through these videos.

  • Rusty turde

  • i love this video!!!!

  • OLD IRON NEVER DIES!!

Does anyone know the law in america of possibly taking one of these cars that have been abandoned? Is it true that you can just take them or what?

    Thanks very much!!

  • @63bugga well, to answer your question you have to get that vehicle registered under your name. i mean you just can't just take it without any form of registration that would count as stealing! in order to take an abandoned car you'll have to contact the DMV tell them about the car and also contact the car's original owner. negotiate with the original owner on the price your willing pay for the car get the car registered to you and it's all yours. i'll go look for more info for you.

  • @TheMostAwesomeMan242 O right, Thankyou very much! Its just too much of a shame to leave them rotting!

  • @63bugga sure thing! and yes i understand what you mean!

  • 2:03 and 0:39 model?

  • ...too bad people let these classics get to the point that they cant be restored! so much history lost!...

  • These would make some awesome hot rods.

  • 0:20 pretty car

  • no brasil isso vale ouro. Todo brasileiro é apaixonado por carros.

  • Nice old cars:-)

  • Good music choice.

  • I like that car at 0:01.

  • LONG LIVE THE OLD IRON!!

  • car at @ 1:58?

  • Damn I would love to have most of them cars... pro'ly for RatRodin' fun. I have my own rusty beast a 57 olds (I miss her). When I get back home its weldin' and grinding time. I Say, get them back on the road first, then fix them up. It doesn't matter what the body looks like just as long as they can cruse the streets again! To all the anti custom car peeps, we can do what ever we want to our cars... If I want disk breaks, Air- ride, Bucket seats and a LS7 in my car, that's my choise.

  • Bautifull video, great stuff, but....this must be a test.... that Buick century is absolutely a 1/18 modelcar made by Mira in Spain,

    weldone my friend!

  • They didn't see the change coming from the east. nothing fancy, nothing great, just copied the mechanicals from the cars of the west and slowly but surely gave the masses what they wanted and the masses bought them.. Chrome Dreams II, watch the DVD to this album and you'll see how & where it ended.

  • Restore em!

DON'T THEM INTO RAT RODS EITHER! Might as well crush it at the point then.

  • These pictures made me cry

  • @fireman6710 I'm so glad I'm not alone on that. Automotive history just led into a field and left to rust and rot away. Sad. :(

  • It's sad about what you mentioned about Detroit. Until the mid to late 70's, maybe mid 80's.......Detroit was ''the'' auto maker.........then one day........it died. How, why, i have no idea. but i see you tube videos of Detroit now.........I wouldn't live there now if it was given to me. Not long ago, the US was one of, if not 'the' best auto makers..........what happened?

  • @ChaosDemonwolf That's easy. They ( the car exectutives) got sloppy and did not care anymore of the quality of the car.The designs were awful. Fairmont /Tbird? Cougar anyone?? They arrogantly assumed that the kids of the parents would go out and by the same car dad had. After 1974 and into the late 80's , even the 90's the American cars was a joke. No don't even start me on the Unions.....

  • thats so fucking hard to watch

  • i like the car at 2:30

  • Lots of nice old Cadillac's. It would be nice to save these old cars but realistically it will cost more to restore these than what you can buy them for already restored. It would be fun to just get them in safe running order and drive them around.

  • I got a one small question: what is this at 3:48 ??

  • @JuliuszMCMXCVII Thats a 1958 or 59 Ford Edsel.

  • This is a very nice clip the cars make me realise that we are not on earth for very long, we have to love our friends any familyand treat everyone with respect.....

  • nearly made me cry

  • awesome video. just proves we all waste away after we die

  • Most of those cars look salvageable. I would really like to buy that Edsel at the end, or save any of them from the crusher.

  • @birdman89100 Wind Up, open source music from youtube, Link is below video

  • Crush worthless piles of crap like hondas and toyotas...NEVER crush these old legends...These old cars reflect that at one time we were a proud nation and cared about quality...I have a lot of respect for all of the men and women in Detroit that built these fine machines....No robots to build them like today....heart, blood, sweat and tears went into the making of them

  • the pain!

  • Those old cars are like books and people both deserve a second chance.

  • The older classic cars are the best. That is why Chrysler and Chevy brought or copied the styled lines in the newer ones(PT Cruisere,HHR,etc...etc...) If I had the money I'd get one and modernize it on the insides,Ya know,CD player, power windows and locks. That would be so cool!

  • @MJG956 As well as the new Challenger....the way it looks is so vintage yet modern....LOVE IT/

  • Nice vid! Like the feel & Fx. Like the correlation between photos & music, nicely done, looking forward to seeing more. 777phase.

  • some very nice rusty cars all look restable, 2:05 love the size of the car! 3:18 sad a morris minor just next to it not sure looks like a truphuth not sure though, 3:49 nice looking edsel,

  • what is the name of this song ??

  • This song depresses me because there's these god cars with nobody able to restore them + they remind me of the golden age.

  • Some of those are a bit past salvage, but a lot would be awesome resto projects. It always bugs me when I see a potentially brilliant car rotting in a field or barn. I saw a split screen VW camper with a bloody tree growing through it once. :(

  • It's a sad song. all the storys these cars could tell. Who they were with. Where they have been. How they were treated. How they came to life. And now there just left out to rust to death. Very sad.

  • I really like this song...sounds good

  • so much potential when i see old cars like this i dont see death, i see rebirth

  • 3:11 ... thats not a real car!

  • Yes,toy car.

  • 3:12 toy car ???

  • sehr schade um die alten Dinger!!!!!!

  • the video is so good, these cars were beautifully made, and each model stood out on its own, not like the modern cars of today which all look the same, my dad had a 1939 side velve ford v8, which he restored to new condition, it was so good to ride in, would be so great to see these ones restored, the video is wonderful,

  • 1:09 would be a sweet ride if someone were to restore it.

  • I saved a 1959 Studebaker Silver Hawk from the crusher some years back. Im still working on getting it road worthy again.

  • That black car at 1:56 is a Cadillac from the 40's, probably a Fleetwood, but I can't be sure.

  • I've seen old cars like these rusting away in farmer's fields, and the farmer won't sell them! They'd rather see it rot away instead of giving someone the opportunity to restore it. I think it's a sin.

  • Why doesn't anyone in the USA realize these cars are worth big money? Here in Europe American cars are rare, many, many boy's dream's could be made true when you would import these rusty beauties. They would be restored and lots of love and money would be put into them. They would live forever.

  • @Hammer0165

    you are so right

  • Somebody save those poor babies,I'll help .Where are they

  • what is that huge black car at 1:56

  • That VW Bug at 2:20, I've seen someone put an engine in the front of a Beetle only once before; some crazy arse big-block Chev, with a 6/71 blower obscuring the view out the front. Saw someone do the same thing to a '53 Morris minor as well; they both weigh less than a tonne, but the Morris had a Boss 427 hanging out the front of it.Ignore the 14" wide Mickey Ts, wheelie bars and blower, and it almost looks like Granny's car

  • The name of the song is "Pilot Speed", by a group called "Alright".

  • cool video and a fab song...

  • yo tbn agarro de esos jaja... pero para arreglarlos no para tenerlos pudriendose como esos weyes... que mal pedo....

  • whats the song called in the background?

  • mi papa agarra peores de 100 dolares le invierte 5000 y los vende de 15000 a 30000

  • nice song what is it called?

  • Pilot Speed: I wont blame you

  • I dont drive but i love classic cars they had style like some old bildings, nice presentation and good song God bless everybody.

  • what a beautyful presentation

  • Is 3:12 a toy car.....?

  • aw poor cars, borought a tear to my eye to see these once magnificent cars forgotten and rusted up, though some of them look to be in alright condition, restorable condition even

  • Fuck, after seing this I felt will not to sell my 18 old car...It would break my heart to see it like these rustys...:S

  • @hgfo378 18 years old is still new crap.

  • send cars in ROmania

    hello! from ROmania

  • Comment removed

  • This is sad

  • they should sell those cars even the bodies of those cars have to be pretty valuable, then they get restored and are back on the road again

  • Fix them, DONT CRUSH THEM

  • @joejoeylol I do look at my You Tube page Yep that 56 Savoy is mine and is under

construction that is number 6 in my stable!

  • @joejoeylol this rule applys to all cars... its the most ecofriendly thing you can do .

  • nice

  • owned a honda civic diead after 7 years these are real cars

  • the condition of some of the more neglected cars is sad but somehow mesmerising and beautifull at the same time i am somwhat sad because of there decay but in way they have passed beyond the relm of automobile and into the relm of art and they are keppers of history from a different perspective they are by all respects a dieing bread so they sould be appreciated before they are all gone

  • Car at 3:11 has to be a model.

  • @newrez It's just the distance from the camera to the car and the way it was photographed. But it does look like a toy.

  • 1:25 That would make a nice Hot Rod..

    Awesome video.. 5/5

  • omg... poor cars. :( I wish they weren't that rusty and still cruisin on route 66

  • Blame the Fuck'n Japs and there Piece of shit Honda's and other 4 banger junk, not the redneck who parked them in the pasture 30 years ago,I love old cars too I really feel your pain and shed a tear for these forgotten automobiles that are now replaced by cheap crap that dies in 5 years and sounds like someone ripp'n ass when you rev'em up

  • thanks man :D

  • @eh4891 ...PLEASE DON'T SWEAR OR KNOCK ANY NATIONALITY, you could have been born in JAPAN and LOOK like one also.

  • @MuffettG100 in Russia ? )))) ha ha ha )))

  • @CapriceNsk ..... :) U R A JERK....

  • @CapriceNsk ..... :) U R A JERK.... :):)

  • i am with you with the jap/korean shit but i have a four banger and its made in the us...thank god

  • @sdime59 Chevy Cavalier here. ;) Small stuff has gone wrong but NEVER anything major!

  • @eh4891 That's easy to say, really, who is to blame? The same people who made the once fine autos. Detroit is to blame that's who. Read my post to ChaoDemonWolf and that will give you an Idea. As for me I love the old cars and yes we should restore them but don't be so quick to blame someone else for our own fuck up. Great Vid by the way!!

  • @eh4891

Why would I blame THEM??? They sold us what we wanted to buy. Detroit got lazy, and built shit starting in the 70's The Japs built simple reliable inexpensive machines that ran great with only regular maintainence. I have owned both and the Jap cars have always run longest with the least repairs for me. I have a 96 Subaru Impreza 204K on it still runs great . And maintainence is a piece of cake. The domestics are getting better and I am glad of that I hope to buy a Chevy next

  • GREAT VIDEO!

  • old cars have soo much more character than new cars , old cars are soo much better :)

  • 2:04, I had a 1953 buick that looked almost exactly like that (a few differences in the front grill and such, but the rust, color, and boat like appearance are the same) and oh how I miss it!

  • real cars love oldies they'll never die

  • big emotions for me thank you

  • A '59 Chevy Impala - I learned to drive in the cow pasture with one of these in the early 70's.

  • my uncle has a really nice 64 impala and his son has a 62. they are so spacious lol

  • The older cars were better

  • is the car at 3:11 a real car? it kinda looks like a model to me.

  • yea ae i have a model of that car and it looks identical lol its a "well weathered" model

  • I was thinking that too

  • I had an impala like the one at the end i had to sell i cryied

  • Great song, once great cars!

  • This is not The Cars-Drive, I guess Youtube deleted it? I hate it, I had that happen two times

  • sum of these would make a great rad rod

  • Fuck Rat Rods. They insult the cars and are a mockery of their former glory.

  • Would love to see all those great cars come back to life. They were made when cars had personalitys of there own not the cookie cutter enviro friendly junk today.

  • cool vid! however I did see a vw, a mercedes and a morris minor. not quite all detroit.

  • where is this?

  • great old cars :)

  • It makes me so sad to see the world's automotive history and heritage rotting away like this. These cars are works of art, and no one word ever scrap a picasso.

does anyone know how to go about rescuing some of these beauties? please getin touch if you do!

  • no kidding. where i live there is a 1954 oldsmobile rocket 88 v8 engine 303...and the owner don't give a fuck the car...well thast waht i think.

  • Ugly ass cars. We all know they are ugly because GM will never reintroduce it onto the roads - EVER! Why? MOST people want to hurl when they see these things. I can't understand why some people claim that they are "beautiful" - no they are not! And beauty is not in the eye of the beholder - that's just something ugly people say.

  • you should get your eyes fixed they are awsome.

  • I keep these types of cars. I still have my 1956 Buick Special and 1964 Coupe Deville. They won't go to a scrap yard on my watch!

  • pardo

  • And they were all sparkling brand new with proud owners at one time...it's sad...makes me think of the cars I had that are probably paper clips now....

  • Thats when cars were cars, To bad they are all rotting away

  • Great pics ,modern cars suck ,only a few will be classics, these car are the biz !!

  • 2:18 Is this a front engine VW bug???

  • yep

  • Yes it is! extremely rare! :O

  • vws dont have an engine in the front

  • I like that cars. In my view, that cars are more better than the modern cars.

  • car were beautiful until 60's. then they decided to make ugly cars

  • "Until 60's"?????? Your head hurts!! Cars looked fantastic from the 30's and got better looking in each & every decade after that UNTIL 1972.The 60's was the last great decade of the American automobile, period!

  • I said UNTIL 60's, which means all years until 1969.

  • ohch my car was mad in 1976

    it's a bmw 2002

  • i no then tey throw them away and let them rot

  • brigs a tear into a car-lover eyes realy :( only if we think obout the joy of the first owners who got them...

  • 0:46 Meteor Crater Observatory on Historic Route 66... They were still there in April of this year.

  • oh thank you for your note,

great observation, the 2 rusty cars still there, amazing! do you live nearby or are you a route 66 tourist?

  • I was just passin through... not really a tourist, but sure not a resident. =] I lived in Los Angeles, my aunt lived in NM, so I made plenty of road trips along that highway.

  • salutations de Paris!

    merci monsieur de ta reponse

I'm a tourist right now, not like route 66, watch:

'' Quai de la Tournelle, etc. ''

    by sky25000

on youtube. it's not my video, but you get the feel and charm of Paris.

I'm still impressed that you saw the rusty cars still there on Historic Route 66 !

'' The Cars Drive Rusty Cars '' hit more than 100'000 hits while I was away !

  • Do you know were the 57 at 3;43 is located? It looks good but just rotting maybe it's a cheap buy. please let me know if you can.

  • that wrecking yard photograph had to be taken 25 years ago, look how complete the car is and look at the near perfect chrome is.

  • OMG i wanna cry i feel like the cars have emotions and thier all sad

  • looks like they have emotions and they feel pain and there crying when seeing them like that :) but yet this will probbaly happen to todays cars within another 10 years or so.

  • Todays cars could never last as long as these gems....todays cars would be gone in like a year..sure don't build 'em like they used to.

  • there are multiple things that your not taking into account, so that is not true.

  • my last comment was directed to MDizzel16

  • Thank you for this video! Of course, I'd rather see them in shining, working condition but, in spite of their rust, it's still nice to see those art masterpieces of the past!!

  • very sad

  • most of these are easily restored some could still be driven with no problems

  • I love these cars ;)...I actually don't like new cars, but I like First car-about 1980, or even fewer, specially I like Americans ;)

  • it is very sad sees these cars in decomposition, and some in good condition for restoration. e I do not get tired myself to not only see for the cars, but also for music.

  • which the name of the musia and author, please

  • whats this song by the way?

  • Speed Pilot

    audio supplied by Youtube

  • how can people let all these classics go to waste...theres soo much character in old cars

  • what name the song , please ?

  • Speed Pilot

    audio supplied by Youtube

  • restoring a car is more then change some parts iits a part of your soul you put into that car

i know i restored one not an American but a german car opel ascona b(i am from belgium next to gemany) and sold it worst thing i ever did

  • 3:30 that's a 56 chevy wagon, i have just finished restoring the exact same car, it is black and yellow

  • though i don't like these old cars, it's sad to see them like this. i can understand everyone whose heart is bleeding because of this but i can't understand why some people treat cars from the 70s-90s like crap because they're "nothing special". in 30 years, people will say, we were out of our minds to let those cars rust away.

  • Kinda' sad to see 'em that way, but glad you captured them on video. Great job!!

  • some great cars in their day, and good song to boot

  • Great vid. Well done! :o)

  • did someone noticed the one at 3:14 is a scale model car?

  • makes me sad, there is alot of potential under all the rust

  • always a shame 2 see the older cars end like this

  • cmon those cars are safer than the cars what we having now...theres no plastic on them:D

i have some oldtimer, its from 69,i modfy it a bit...and theoreticly its not stoping,it dont have what to be broken:D

  • ya, they could be saved I amagine but would cost a heck of a lot of dough, u might be able to salvage parts off one to fit on another. on the other hand think how much u could get for scrap metal when the market is high.

  • there isnt only a junk or only a car!!! these are more than just a car!!!

  • I spied 2 Morris Minor muscle cars.

  • nice cars wish i could have one of those.

  • I'd love to have a lot of land to keep a bunch of old cars on....even if they didn't run....just to be able to sit in them and think of all the places these cars went....and all the people who owned them. Every old car has stories....we just can't hear them

  • There's GOLD in their hills - good post Hans

  • Thank You

  • thy quem is altor of this músic and name.

  • Everyone one of those can be saved. WHERE ARE THEY AT!!??!!
