Nice......thanks for posting. Next time you shoot you might consider getting guitarists from the opposite angle........easier to see guitar and both hands......but thanks mucho cool!
Probably bringing much fury upon myself but I think there's also something simliar to a part of "Guitars and other cathedrals" in here (2:15 but also 3;29 onwards)
Great player, though. And great guy. I sent him a fan letter 18 years ago, and he wrote back a postcard with the answers to all my questions.
The card had an airplane on the front - I just imagine him sitting in an airport, or on a plane answering fan-mail...One great fella.
@devolve42 not sure but I can tell you that Frank was a clown at a music festival dad played at when I was a kid. I was obsessed with him. I forget what his other job was but he did my face paint and kept me busy while the old man did his thing and I rode the underground back as such. memorable times. I remember there being a fire engine too! :)
Yes, he and his wife were both great company and a pleasure to spend the evening with. What an amazing player! So relaxed. He makes it look so easy. I'm glad he gave us permission to record. "Put it on YouTube" he says. Here you go, Adrian. Thanks again for a great night!
I have the whole night on HD video and I will sync to the board mix and post more soon. This clip is just the camera audio, but not too bad.
oatmealboy you say you recorded this and have it all on video, what an absolute treasure. and you fellowshipped with himhe seems such a happy guy and definately relaxed as you say playin barefoot. my Dad introduced me to him when i was a kid by giving me 'guitar for mortals' on tape. his playin is so smooth and from his heart. thanks for puttin this on here friend.
@oatmealboy If that was just the camera mike I'm afraid your soundboard release of this might just do me in! Crystalline picking..you can't beat fingernails. As an aside @ mcgigglish below, I'm sure Adrian has heard "Stairway to Heaven" as well.
@oatmealboy I thank you as well or posting. I am tryin a find a piece that hopefully take me back in time. He is my emotional time machine.his music is emotionally poweful
What an astounding talent, and what a beautiful piece. Aside from his obvious qualities I love the way he seems to play to his own drifting rhythm, never 'in time' as such, but never sounding anything other than just right. This lends such a 'feel' to the performance. I can't wait to see more.

Truly a master. Also, a very gentle and friendly person to meet. No matter what it takes, if you get a chance go to see him if at all possible.

devolve42 3 years ago

The opening lick is very similar to "A Candle in Notre Dame" from Guitar for Mortals

Glad to see this song on here, one of my favorites. I've been working on this song for a while, maybe I'll post a video someday.
