This is one of my favorite films. Max Von Sydow was brilliant. Deserved an Oscar nomination. While Redford is good as Turner/Condor you still see him and say that's Redford. Von Sydow was Joubert. Great piece of acting. Cliff Robertson and Faye Dunaway are excellent as well. Joubert now respects and worries for Condor after spending most of the film trying to kill him. Excellent twist.
A truly brilliant movie. On my top 10 all-time favorites. Von Sydow's performance was remarkable. I get chills when I watch this scene. Three simple words, but oh the power they emit when spoken.
@irarube Totally agree. On my top list as well. I watch it often. I enjoy just about everything about it. Taught story. Terrific direction. This should be a film shown in film schools. Dave Grusin's score is brilliant as well.
thanks. I see we have the same taste in movies. May I share some others? like The Counterfeit Traitor ---- 1962 spy thriller with William Holden. I generally don't recent movies much, but I did watch one the other night that I particularly enjoyed ------ Gattaca. Another recommendation is a taut thinking man's western ---- Will Penny
Great movie Von Sydow's character was both cold and chilling and somehow honorable.
