Are all sun conures more loud/obnoxious/irate than most birds? I have one, and he behaves terribly, lol. And in the begginning I saw your sun conures screaming while the others were being quiet. Are they all like that?
Hey guys love you videos so much ! After seeing marnie so much I'm going to get two Indian ring neck birds now haha but I have a huge request ! !!!!! Can u make a video of all your animals I'd love to see them :) please please please !
@Slash1005 seriously, not a good idea, why do people think just because they buy a ringneck, it's going to be like Marnie? Please do your homework before getting any parrot, or any pet for that reason!! Check out my website listed under the video to get an idea about all the care, committment and longivity of a bird!!
feathering picking can also be a sign of stress due to not enough quiet time. esp. if there are other birds in the room that make a lot of noise. You have a beautiful family of birds! Thanks for sharing. :)
Love Marnie....he is such a ham, lol. Love all ur feathered friends too :) Beautiful babies! R they just all ur pets? Or do u rescue or breed? Feather pickin is hard to figure out sometimes. I'm havin a problem with my cockatiel picking...but she started this when she lost her mate. Tho she still has my attention, the company of 2 other tiels n a Bourkes parakeet...n lots of new toys, I'm still having trouble getting her to stop. They were mates for 9 years.
I just can't get over how precious Marnie is! He is the sweetest thing ever! And I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who gives their bird "babies". My Grey has a few too that she loves to snuggle and kiss.
My kids and I just started watching your videos. One of them was on Cute Overload which is one of our favorite places for animal pix and vids. So now we go around saying "She's so, She's so cute!" Marnie's dialogue is always so appropriate to the situations it's amazing. I love watching him. You take such good care of your birds. I've heard parrots, in particular, need a lot of care and stimulation.
I loooove marnie you have beautiful parrots!! All in a loving home that is just Wonderful to see!!!! Marnie is too adorable for words just PRECIOUS! thanks for sharing take care.
I hope to have a room occupied with all my birds when I get a place :) Thats been a dream of mine, as I plan to have mannnyyy feathered family members!
Your vids always make me happy, and excited. Excitement knowing I'll most likely have my own flock with their own room in the future ^.^ Though my family says thats crazy for animals to have their own room. lol.
A YouTube viewer put me onto Pluck No More fro my African Grey..when we got her she was naked except for head and wings - now she is fully feathered thanks to that stuff..the trick is to follow the bottle directions EXACTLY..if you decide to try it, I'll tell you my process. She's not on it anymore and doing great!
omg I think the owner takes such good care of her birds. Almost every video the guy is in the kitchen working hard cutting up fruit!!!! I doubt other people take such good care of their birds. Marnie saying "you're so cute" is probably the cutest thing ever.
you have no idea just how much I want Marnie hahaha I have two parrots myself and everytime i watch a marnie vid, I smother my african gray with love XD thankfully she's used to it >>
Cute videos, too! I wish I had the time for a bird, but I know it isn't fair to keep one when I don't have the time. They are just so cute though! You clearly love them so much! <3
I absolutely adore Marnie, he's so freakin cute! I really don't think that those birds with the missing feathers pick them because of neglect, sometimes it's seperation anxiety even if you're not gone that long and sometimes it's just the way they are. they look very happy to me :]
thanks, you obviously have dealt with parrots and know that the feather issue isn't always easy to firgure out! I just give my birds lots of love and a good diet and accept them for who they are.
What's with parrots (Macaws especially, that I have seen) having ripped out all or most of their feathers? I saw one at a pet store like that once, but it was the worst pet store ever and the parrots were obviously very neglected so I thought it was just stress. But can/does this happen with well cared for birds, too? Is it just around breeding season or something?
If the feather loss is actually due to feather picking, yes, it's pretty much an indicator of bad mental health. Usually it's due to poor treatment, but just like with people, it's not impossible for something to just be "off" with a bird for no real reason, or due to stress that isn't the caretaker's fault. And eating cottage cheese with a spoon is a warning sign that the bird is AWESOME.
My aunt and uncle rescued a Green Conure years ago and went through he!! to rehab him. You are such a wonderful person for taking in these amazingly special, needy, entertaining, loving animals. They are obviously all very loved.
Here I thought Marnie was our star and you've got macaws eating with spoons, sheesh! Got here through Cute Overload, loving that Marnie, my new favourite net pet :-)

Or it can also be due to a virl infection. Because I've seen several of her birds that look like that it could possibly be the virus spreading.
It's pretty common in birds.
But it could possibly be something else
