  • The doukhobors are a Russian group of Christians. We believe that god does not live within a church, priest, etc. but that god lives in each and every person. I feel so proud to call myself a doukhobor!

  • what's the song about? it says xristos .. i thought they were not christians.. or they r not catholic ;p.. like i was brought up. well i am wwoofing in the kootenays so people are talking to me about the doukhobors : ). So i wish good luck to anyone who wants to grow fruit trees and be independant in there own way. good sharing with all other humans in this place we call life : )

  • @babapoopoo they beleive in god their songs are about worshipping him and his work

  • Slawa Bogu!

  • Wonderful. How can we get these CDs?

  • I grew up in Grand Forks as well, this brings back a lot of memories.

  • Beautiful!! Praise God.

  • @aardvark1956

I have since learned of the serious errors in the teachings of the group. I love this piece of music, but the doctrine is way off - sad.

  • growing up in grand forks, this reminds me of home.

  • Is there any way I can get a copy of this album? I would love

to give it to my mother in law.

She would be brought to tears of joy if she heard this.

If someone could help me please, that would be wonderful.

    Spasiba

  • My husband is Doukhobor, I am part polish and Native.

I think if we hang on to hatred, then we cannot grow.

We are good friends with other Polish, Ukrainians, and pretty much every minority under the sun. I think its more our older generations that hold on to the anger.

The doukhobors were against their own government so stop hating them because they were russian, they were just peasants who had nothing to do with the politics.

They'd give you the shirt off your back if you needed it.

  • The Doukhobors are a peaceful vegetarian people. Truly enlightened and aware of the nature of Reality.

I, as a German-Russian, would fare very well among the Doukhobors.

If only we could be beamed away to a Class M planet with ideal conditions like the German Fatherland or Mother Russia (like we see for Native Americans on the Star Trek: TOS episode "The Paradise Syndrome") We would live in peace, which is NOT! seen on Earth (except among Doukhobors).

  • Are there any Ukrainians who are Doukhobors? I ask that as a Ukrainian.

  • I'm sure there are Ukranians in the Doukhobors as well as the Molokans! The songs are so much alike! Just beautiful! I met some Doukhobor's while in Canada. They have traveled to many cities to sing their beautiful songs!

  • yes there are. go to doukhobor (dot) org it is a geneology website, it can help answer many of your questions

  • "Are there any Ukrainians who are Doukhobors? I"

No. Ukrainians hate all Russians. My mother is Ukrainian and father a douk - absolutely tossed out.

  • "Are there any Ukrainians who are Doukhobors?"

No - Ukrainians hate Doukhobors. My mother was Ukrainian/Polish and her parents disowned her for marrying my father.

  • thats bullshit and u know it. im a douk and im part ukrainian. maybe ur mom just didnt like ur dad. how do u know it had to do with his religion. one of my doukhobor great uncles married a ukrainian and she was by his side till he died. and then she gave him a traditional funeral. so how bout u shut up about the one case a ukrainian threw out a doukhobor. it happens to a lot of people, and not only for religion, so get ur facts strait and stop disrespecting

  • "thats bullshit and u know it. im a douk and im part ukrainian"

My mother is Polish/Ukrainian and when she announced that she was marrying my father, her mother told her that she would be better off marrying an indian and living on the reservation because at least he would be Catholic. Mom and dads marriage was a great one but the Ukrainian side was mean to him all his life. There is mixing now but there are no Ukrainian Doukabors in the Verigin area.

  • ya, ok, so ur family hates a doukhobor, but u said "No - Ukrainians hate Doukhobors." and im saying that taht is bullshit. i am living proof. i am ukrainian, and a doukhobor. so just because ur ukrainian/polish family hates a doukhobor, doesnt mean that all polish/ukrainian hate doukhobors.

  • jungle, you silly little poop! I am 65 years old and I grew up in Verigin, the heart of the whole thing. Over the years, I have seen what happened. Ukrainians were always, almost without exception a bunch of shitheads. Never did a Ukrainian become a Doukhabour. Your memory is what? 10 years - mine is 55 years -and in the area. Even to this day, Ukrainians sneer at Doukhabors. Now, Ukrainians marry Russians but they do not become Doukhabours.

  • well, i know one who did, and u proved my point "in the area." that doesnt mean that every ukrainian hates doukhobors. maybe in saskatchewan, but not here in BC. all i know, is that i am a ukrainian, a russian, a georgian, but my religion, is doukhobor. so just stop talking about how ukrainians and russians and doukhobors hate eachother. i hate no one, and i am living proof that ukrainians and doukhobors can love eachother

  • "well, i know one who did, and u proved my point "in the area"

Yes, well, I know another who did but she stills looks down on Doukabours. No, I won't stop talking about Ukes who are high and mighty Catholics who hate the Douks who are some of the kindest people I've ever known. There is NO Uke who ever became a Douk, jungle.

  • @LoraSinger You're junk!

  • "i hate no one, and i am living proof that ukrainians and doukhobors can love eachother "

Individual ones can in today's world but as a rule, Ukes do not become Douks and that is the way it is.

  • "am a ukrainian, a russian, a georgian"

    You are a Ukrainian/Russian mix - NOT a Georgian.

  • no, i am a georgian. i am part georgian, u dont even know me, you cant say what i am and what i am not.

  • "no, i am a georgian"

    Well then Geogian, Kamarjoba?

  • did u mean gamarjoba, thats georgian for hello

  • Hi, I just typed it as I pronounce it. That and "I'm fine" are all I know. My grandparents used it when they wanted to talk privately.

  • "well, i know one who did"

    Great! You know ONE.

  • Taras Koozma who is the Canadian historian for the Canadian doukhabors is a friend of my cousins and was married to a next door neighbour, Naida Konkin. If you want information regarding the Doukhabors, he is the one you should consult. In fact, he is on YouTube too.

  • "u proved my point "in the area." "

Well, Jung - In this "area" are about 50% Ukrainians. What's it like in your area ? about 2%

  • doesnt matter what the percentage is. cause ur saying that ukrainians hate doukhobors. so even if 50% of the ukrainians hate doukhobors over there, there is 2% of them who like doukhobors here, so u cant say taht ukrainians hate doukhobors. and why wont u believe me. A UKRAINIAN BECAME A DOUKHOBOR. she is my great aunt. i konw her better than u.

  • "A UKRAINIAN BECAME A DOUKHOBOR. she is my great aunt. i konw her better than u. "

That's one in a million, jung, and most certainly not the rule.

  • i love it and iam douhbour as well

  • Ochen horosho! I am going to Russia in One and a half years! let's get ready to sing some pasaloms!! woo hoo

    jbaris@hot... ;)

  • My people. I love you guys.

  • @jbaris Ты духобор? Have you already gone to our Motherland? I made the trip last year, currently waiting to go back.
