Bushman Insect Repellent. I used it the other day in a leech infested area. Worked really well. It has deet though and it gets a bit hot on the skin for about 10 mins. I use that for my ankles and shins. And use a normal one for my neck, arms and hands.

Uh, isn't using something like cigarette, soda, insect repellent, lemon juice, and salt the WORST way to remove a leech? This is because it has something with the vomiting of the leech that would release bacteria and cause a very bad infection. I heard the best way is to use your fingernails at the small end of the leech and the large end and then use your finger to firmly and gently flick it away. Oh yea, pulling the leech is just as bad as spraying salt on it.

not at all. literally not at all. Leeches have anesthetic and you dont feel when they bite you. They are also sterile, they dont give you any kind of infection

it was an insect repellent made with natural ingredients and it worked better than any 'artificial' chemical stuff.

They sold it in just about every pharmacy/drug store in South East Asia.

Never got a single bite by bugs (mosquitos, etc) in a month I was there. Smells good too :)

not at all. They have anesthetic so you don't feel when they bite, and you don't feel after neither. They bleed a while.. like 10-15 minutes, because of the blood thinning

To tell you the truth, I dunno what it was. We bought it in Thailand and they have all natural anti-insect sprays (no DEET!) that work fantastically. We went to a pharmacy/drug store and they had this stuff that claimed to also be anti-leech.. so we bought it.

These were just two of 7 leeches I got. A grand total of 16 (including the 7) tried to assault me.

Advice: Contrary to popular belief, its better to have shorts. You FEEL if they're trying to crawl up your leg to get to your crotch (they go for warmth). And trust me, they're FAST. They'll climb up your pants in less than 20-30 seconds... and thats a problem if you can't feel the suckers (literally) come up your legs.
