I think there is more to the story. Obviously, they were following him if a undercover cop and a highway patrol police officer show up. Also, we don't know his criminal background or the situation. He could easily have an arrest warrant or he was driving like that with a revoke license or he could have caused an accident, which would give this guy a felony. He could have easily been running from a patrol officer. There just isn't enough information to say the officer was in the wrong.

Damn, I'm going to school to become a cop and I can tell you right now what that cop did was wrong. You never pull a gun out like that especially without IDing yourself as an officer. I never understood if the wiretapping issue was for the recording of this video or a separate case. If it was for recording in public and a citizen that happened to be an off duty police officer was in a set of frames, that's complete crap.
I'd say file a complaint, then a suit...but in my experience in these situations...they just get promoted up or sideways instead of out. My favorite officer in the world went from the streets to detective, and evidence on both sides just seem to disappear.
Next time this happens, if there is no duty cop behind the off duty, tell him to show you his gun is loaded, if he says yes, then you know he is lying. Its an old cop joke, but it works all the time. Or just punch it and get off an off ramp somewhere close to home.

At 32 secs he passes bus and unmarked car in far left lane with the front wheel up and goes in excess of 120 easily seen with 720p. Then passes marked car in median which follows in pursuit at 1:06. Unmarked officer has badge on his hip. If I could see it with the high mounted wide angle lens so could the rider. Rider was never in danger and officer never had finger in the trigger guard and kept gun to the ground. Don't like firearms being pulled out in front of you don't double speed limit.

Obviously there is a little more to this story than what we have been told. Obviously the guy on the bike is involved in some kind of crime that these officers were aware of. They used the speeding charge as a "foot in the door" way of gaining a hold on the suspect (Find out what he looks like etc.). The biker probably saw the marked cop car behind him and sped up trying to get away. They used the unmarked car and officer to keep tabs on him until they could safely stop him. Flee = guns drawn

I never understood if the wiretapping issue was for the recording of this video or a separate case. If it was for recording in public and a citizen that happened to be an off duty police officer was in a set of frames, that's complete crap.
I'd say file a complaint, then a suit...but in my experience in these situations...they just get promoted up or sideways instead of out. My favorite officer in the world went from the streets to detective, and evidence on both sides just seem to disappear.

At 32 secs he passes bus and unmarked car in far left lane with the front wheel up and goes in excess of 120 easily seen with 720p. Then passes marked car in median which follows in pursuit at 1:06. Unmarked officer has badge on his hip. If I could see it with the high mounted wide angle lens so could the rider. Rider was never in danger and officer never had finger in the trigger guard and kept gun to the ground. Don't like firearms being pulled out in front of you don't double speed limit.

Obviously there is a little more to this story than what we have been told. Obviously the guy on the bike is involved in some kind of crime that these officers were aware of. They used the speeding charge as a "foot in the door" way of gaining a hold on the suspect (Find out what he looks like etc.). The biker probably saw the marked cop car behind him and sped up trying to get away. They used the unmarked car and officer to keep tabs on him until they could safely stop him. Flee = guns drawn
