@otfresh dont compared with capoiera. capoiera is only simple acrobatic dance from africa which always steal many techniques from many other martial art. silat is so practical n effective. those techniques is created to fight for imbalance n slippery surface like at the hill or mountain, river bank, mangroove swamp n most important most austranesian peoples are sailors which fight in small unstable boat. their body position is low bcoz they also fight in intense jungle.

@otfresh dont feel hurt with kemangkukan truth statement. im also agree with him. capoiera is came from african dancing tribe with less value of martial art then enhancing with many styles of many martial arts. no wonder bcoz capoiera master is master of many martial art. some of capoiera master come to malaysia also enchanted n learn silat. moreover capoeira have lose with many other martial art n then improved by mix it. the most important thing silat is very less acrobatic so its practical.

Haha despite the fact that many of the movements are clearly rip-offs from Indian and oriental martial arts.please don't be surprised by the arrogance of these Malaysian Silat practitioners who like to degrade other arts due to blind nationalist sentiments.
