@UnreadyVirus Skulls dont take effect as soon as you pick them up, you activate them in the campaign lobby, and it tells you what they all do

A good idea for jumping for skull 4, is to grenade jump, just make sure you do it on top of the warthog. Hope this helps x)

for skull 6 get a deployable cover from a dead brute than put it next to the thing the skull is on and the jump onto the shield and then onto the thing
