I've been keeping quiet this but sometimes at night where it's clear skies and I go outside and look up at the stars it feels strange but in a good way. In mathematics, take the funtion f(x)=x^2, base quadratic function. You could use it to describe the flight of a football through the air starting from the -second- it was thrown to the moment it lands. Each y value is a given time, and each x value is where in space the ball is at that y value. Hence motion is a 'function' of time.

And the fact that matter exists plays upon our senses, most robustly the eyes, creating our seamless perception of the world around us. However, this does not mean that we "create" our own universe. The universe does exist independent of our perception of it, however it likely exists very different from how we perceive it.

Personally I'm hoping for a zombie apocalypse come 2012 for a drastically different way of living in which survival trumps all else and the BS busy-body 'work work work' of today is replaced by the basics of 'Food, water, shelter, medicine, etc.'. Many people would die and there would be new difficulties to overcome but I think that would be a better life than that which is offered now. If 2012 is just the year of mental expansion however, sounds pretty interesting.

The thing is human consciousness has to evolve. And in a way that we are more compassionate. We cannot kill 150 billions of animals for food each year and think we will survive if we continue doing so. That is the real task, change to a true sustainable way of living. And that begins on our plate: just do not eat meat and fish and dairy anymore. If everybody changed to a plant based diet, we could avoid any disasters that are looming around the corner.

wow the most impressive aspect of this 2012 stuff is the degree of uncertainty it possesses. I went from an an alarmist of global warming, to a denier, realised the corruption of politicians and their hate, to just plain not watching TV and not caring amongst many other processes. @OneLoveization I'd suggest you start reading for your self, or go back to school and learn instead of blindly accepting these new age spiritual beliefs simply because they sound attractive. In the end, they will prove wrong, and a lot of people who base their own belief system from them will be left saddened. Learn logic first. If you learn logic, and logic brings you to these kinds of beliefs, then all the power to you. But I think you may be surprised in finding they don't.

You seem to think the right and left brain hemispheres work independent of one another, they don't. They work together to create for us a seamless understanding the world. The left takes care of language -mostly-, and the right takes care of spatial cognition -mostly-, but they work together via the corpus collosum.

@OneLoveization Firstly, time is not like motion, that is not what I said. Motion is a function of time. Which means motion cannot happen without the flow of time. In mathematics, take the funtion f(x)=x^2, base quadratic function. You could use it to describe the flight of a football through the air starting from the -second- it was thrown to the moment it lands. Each y value is a given time, and each x value is where in space the ball is at that y value. Hence motion is a 'function' of time.

@OneLoveization Continuation: without time. And as well, just because some scholar out there says "time is an illusion" does not mean it is. Time likely exists, since motion is a function of time in mathematics, and mathematics has been correct in explaining almost all phenomena in the universe thus far. I would encourage you to continue reading while keeping a critical (but not negative) disposition. You may want to start with Edmund Husserl's phenomenalism and then continue from that point!

@McTaggStar To clarify: I was not discrediting quantum & modern physical theories, I was merely saying be cautious in accepting them because they are being revised all the time, and still are not considered facts yet, because these theories are difficult to find direct evidence for. Most are based on theoretical/mathematical hypotheses.

@OneLoveization Continued: As well, I would warn you not to agree entirely with theories of quantum physics and other modern physical theories, and I would warn you not to base radical philosophical theories upon them. They are just science's best guess, because it is impossible to directly observe the quantum world. You might want to read up on phenomenalism, it would interest you. As well, I would argue that time -likely- exists. Most of our theories in modern physics do not make sense

@OneLoveization Yes, there is a theory in modern physics postulating that by observing atoms and thus matter that it changes, but nonetheless, matter still exists. And the fact that matter exists plays upon our senses, most robustly the eyes, creating our seamless perception of the world around us. However, this does not mean that we "create" our own universe. The universe does exist independent of our perception of it, however it likely exists very different from how we perceive it.

@OneLoveization Let me ask you then, are there any documented studies to explain this phenomenon in any refereed journals of either science or philosophy? In my studies and academic pursuits I have been taught to approach issues such as these with a degree of skepticism. Through skepticism we are able to really separate between truth and fiction, rather than accepting something without valid reason.

This wacko hippy bullshit is, well, bullshit. Consciousness is not going to "shift". To say it is is firstly ambiguous. What in the hell can someone mean by "shift in consciousness", or "psychic energy"? There are no such things. You psyche is the workings of your brain, your neurology, which works on energy of course, but you have no say in how that energy is allocated, and so you cannot focus it or anything like that. This whole thing makes me sick as to think about how irrational the world is

Check out collective consciousness/ hive mind. What you classify as humans getting dumber is actually humans adapting to the reality that we have ACCESS to exponentially more information than ever possible.

@ego999fitness ...Every one is truly left-sided, its a fact of biology. Everyone's left hemisphere is dominant over the right in every respect, except face perception and spatial orientation. So really, what are you getting at? It is our "left-sided" capacity to reason that allows us to obtain higher knowledge, and my reason tells me that a lot of this video is a lot of junk that, while very imaginative and entertaining, doesn't really mean much at all and holds little water.

Sounds very self important. As if 2012 or 2000 or some such "date" has any bearing on anything beyond our petty self interest. Time is construct of the human brain.
I am all for learning how to live in harmony with the planet but it is not Burning man, and it is not the good old days.
