@Ent3RUzerNameHer3 What you have to understand is that fighting is a part of ice hockey, and it has a "code" of sorts. If you start swinging at people with sticks you're getting a multi-game suspension, possibly even assault charges. Fistfighting is condoned and only penalised with normal hockey penalties. Also any player who starts taking swings at people in the rink is going to find themselves a complete pariah in the player circles pretty fast. Nobody likes idiots whose aim is to hurt people.

Claude got what was coming to him. Funny how so many players were keen to play for the Red Wings - Hossa left the Pens to go to the red wings (because it gave him his best chance to win a cup - his words), Paul Coffey, Brett Hull, Brendan Shanahan, do I need to go on?.

This was a classic and highlighted the NHL in full Beast Mode. There are two main reasons to love the NHL. The sport can be fast and smooth, almost graceful. But it can be as brutal as all hell.
