  • I want to do this to my 86.5, about how much did it cost you?

  • do 1jzgte have Head gasket problems as well?

  • @xxxEmmureOwnxxx not at all, only the 7m series die to toyota not torquing the head bolts right and sending out the wrong torque specs, there was no recall

  • Great job!! Cleaning up someones wiring mess sucks!!

  • wow i just waste 2 mins and 54 secons of my life<

  • What did you have to change like the computer and stuff?

  • Man I wish my car was that clean before I started my swap. My engine is all done and I'm still waiting on about $1000 worth of used body and trim parts to get the car on the road.

  • Beautiful, I wonder what the drivability difference is between the 7M and 1J?

  • I have a auto ma70 w/ bhg. anyone have any info on swapping the 1jz into mk3 using the existing auto tranny?

  • how do you like the 1jz over the 7m?

  • hell yeah i doing same thing to my mk3

  • Any parts left over from halfcut JZA70?

  • holy fuck dude. thats such a clean motor. how many k was on it?

  • great video.... quick question... y did u switch the engine from a 7m-gte to a 1jz.... y didnt u jst modify it with the money n time u spent w the swap.... i have a 89 supra turbo w a manual transmission n am thinking weather to modify the 7m-gte engine it has r jst switch to a 1jz n wait to mod that?

  • 7m's have longer stroke than diameter of piston and are notorious for blowing up head gaskets.plus 1j's are more reliable than 7m's.

  • @JDMforever11 Only if you dont know what you are doing...just torque that head down 70lbs and it will be realiable as shit...i just dont get going to 1j when the 7m is just as good if not better.

  • im not downing the 7m,just the fact it loves to blow head gaskets, both engines are great though.

  • @nitrousboy0311 The only thing is, alot of people don't catch the leaking head gasket right away, or they keep driving with it out of ignorance... which leads to alot more to replace than just a head gasket. When I got my supra the 7M in it didn't have a single moving part inside that wasn't damaged from the coolant in the oil and the overheating. The cams were even seized, and the rod knock was so bad the pistons left deep impressions in the head.

  • kick ass car(s), kick ass song=P

  • dude this is sick... how did you go about with the wiring harness? Im doing the same swap and I cant find a diagram for my body plugs at all... the only thing holding up my supra... :( could you help?

  • yep, I extended it by 21"

  • @tylerjacobsen85 Should have just cut a hole in the firewall and fed the harness behind the dash......

  • Colbytofu, what are you basing your opinion on? Lack of ability to do such a project, or stupidity due to lack of respect for other cars? Are you one of those hardcore Honda boys or an American muscle nutswinger?

  • sigh i think im getting a 1jz supra but motor will be blown

  • You are such a fucking tool u sack of shit! nothing wrong that that .. do some research on supras let alone the 1JZ one of the best motors on the market today ! go back to your hole rodent.

  • wow that turned out VERY clean, nice work.

  • Thanks

  • nice song.

    supra is cool.

  • Looks like a clean swap. I'm gonna be doing mine soon. I was wondering if you did it yourself or did you have a shop do it for you. How hard was it after doing the harness. I'm getting my complete motor for 2k. How much do you think I'm gonna be spending more to get the swap done? thanks.

  • what that song??? sweet swap!!

  • Thanks, the song is Bayside - Duality

  • I have a question, I'm looking at a 1jz mk3 with auto transmission and I wanted to know all I need to make it a manual transmission. Thanks

  • You can go one of two ways for a manual, You can use a r154 from a 7m-gte, but you have to find a 1j bellhousing and fly wheel to make it work. The 1j and 7mgte clutchs are the same for the r154. You can use a w58 form a mk4 every thing will fit (2j clutch, fly, bell). But dont know what kind of driveshaft you have to use or mounting. The best thing to do is to do it find one with a 5-speed on it, you will save a lot of time and money (like 500 buck or more), trust me.

  • haha cock block

  • hey man nice supra, i was wondering where u found the whole clip for the swap, i was looking into a 1jz swap and everybody says dont just buy the motor and tranny, they all say get the whole front clip of the donor car...where did u find yours?

  • Thanks man, you should save up and go 1jz, it's a great motor. Its my DD and runs like a champ.

  • nice man im workin on my 89 supra too but mine is a n/a want to put in a turbo was thinkin of doin a sweap too but its a lot of money to do so ill just save up
