I admit I don't remember the EXACT word, but he said it stopped him either for a moment, a second, or a minute, any one of which is an idiom in our language for a short period of time anyway. He was in a different location because it was a different segment of the movie, when he was reflecting on the scene before, he did not film 24 hours a day.

The intent of the movie was not to debunk religion (even though bill would love to make a film doing that) it was to debunk literalism. the point of the movie was that stupid + religion = really bad things. not being intelligent enough to know when something is to be taken literally and when to take it figuratively is bad, ie the ak congressman (or senator i forget). overall a good review of the film.

One of my main points about the creationism vs. evolution debate is that they are really just two sides of the same coin, becasue there IS a difference between HOW and WHY. How does evolution negate creationism? The bible states that a thousand years is as a day to God. Why not stretch that further and say God created the land animals, including dinosaurs and such, millions of years ago. Why do many christians insist the world is only 5000 years old? Science has most certainly proven the earth is billions of years old. So just go with your thousand/million/billion years is a day to God, and there is no conflict.

Or, some who witnessed the presence and voice of Christ. There are also the hundreds of stories of people who have witnessed demons in their presence, speaking to them. No drugs!

There is no reason to disprove the existence of something. The burden of proof rests fully on those who believe it exists. They must prove it exists to those of us who do not believe it exists. So far they have come up empty-handed.
The trinity/water analogy doesn't work: water can take three different forms, but is still essentially the same thing.
It's a decent analogy for a pastor to use in a sermon, but it doesn't hold up outside of a like-minded Christian group. Why? Because the water can only be one of those things at a time. The water can't be simultaneously ice and steam, and in two different places. It doesn't disprove the concept of the trinity in itself, but it's disanalogous.

You do realize that the theory of evolution goes completely against the idea that an all-knowing, all-powerful God created the earth right? To acknowledge evolution is fact is to deny that Earth was formed any other way.

The Word of God is the final authority for me. If the Creation account does not support evolution, which it doesn't, there's no sense in a Christian accepting both Creation and evolution as fact. The whole "God created the earth through evolution" is one the devil's biggest tricks to get God's children to stray more towards secular humanism and away from modern Christianity.

I think we are getting our points criss crossed... Jesus's message was about LOVE which whether you believe in Jesus or God makes no difference because it is a message no one has an argument against. I know, what I'm saying is, since the message IS common sense then there is no need for the hating on the guy. A lot of the stuff that cropped up around Jesus's teachings had nearly nothing to do with what the man was trying to say. Technically I would be considered a "Pagan Gnostic" and yes, I do believe in evolution. The exception being I believe in a initial "creator" who started the Big Bang. The elements, electrons etc. that caused the friction and explosion didn't just create themselves.

I admit I don't remember the EXACT word, but he said it stopped him either for a moment, a second, or a minute, any one of which is an idiom in our language for a short period of time anyway. He was in a different location because it was a different segment of the movie, when he was reflecting on the scene before, he did not film 24 hours a day.

The intent of the movie was not to debunk religion (even though bill would love to make a film doing that) it was to debunk literalism. the point of the movie was that stupid + religion = really bad things. not being intelligent enough to know when something is to be taken literally and when to take it figuratively is bad, ie the ak congressman (or senator i forget). overall a good review of the film.

Good video. Yeah, I watched the movie and I found it interesting. I too would actually enjoy to debate with bill. One of my main points about the creationism vs. evolution debate is that they are really just two sides of the same coin, becasue there IS a difference between HOW and WHY. I sometimes feel like I am one of very few who understands that.

How does evolution negate creationism? The bible states that a thousand years is as a day to God. Why not stretch that further and say God created the land animals, including dinosaurs and such, millions of years ago. Why do many christians insist the world is only 5000 years old? Science has most certainly proven the earth is billions of years old. So just go with your thousand/million/billion years is a day to God, and there is no conflict.

Such as MANY radical Muslims who wanted to kill all Christians and Jews and either had Jesus appear to them in their dreams, converting them to Christianity,(entire villages!) Or, some who witnessed the presence and voice of Christ. There are also the hundreds of stories of people who have witnessed demons in their presence, speaking to them. No drugs!

The trinity/water analogy doesn't work: water can take three different forms, but is still essentially the same thing.
It's a decent analogy for a pastor to use in a sermon, but it doesn't hold up outside of a like-minded Christian group. Why? Because the water can only be one of those things at a time. The water can't be simultaneously ice and steam, and in two different places. It doesn't disprove the concept of the trinity in itself, but it's disanalogous.

The Word of God is the final authority for me. If the Creation account does not support evolution, which it doesn't, there's no sense in a Christian accepting both Creation and evolution as fact. The whole "God created the earth through evolution" is one the devil's biggest tricks to get God's children to stray more towards secular humanism and away from modern Christianity.

Revelation, for example. Psalms. Many of Jesus's teachings. As best as we can tell considering the science on the matter, the creation account was metaphorical and allegorical. Meanwhile, history would seem to support the historicity of the flood and other Old Testament events, so those are clearly founded.

Why not stretch that further and say God created the land animals, including dinosaurs and such, millions of years ago. Why do many christians insist the world is only 5000 years old? Science has most certainly proven the earth is billions of years old. So just go with your thousand/million/billion years is a day to God, and there is no conflict.

I know, what I'm saying is, since the message IS common sense then there is no need for the hating on the guy. A lot of the stuff that cropped up around Jesus's teachings had nearly nothing to do with what the man was trying to say. Technically I would be considered a "Pagan Gnostic" and yes, I do believe in evolution. The exception being I believe in a initial "creator" who started the Big Bang. The elements, electrons etc. that caused the friction and explosion didn't just create themselves.
