best gains for the money from what IV herd is a 3.2 or 3.0 inch pully, high ratio rockers, cai, power log, plugs, ubend, 170 degree thermostat and a intercooler
typically they say to run a 3.4 inch pully you need a cold air intake, cooler range plugs, ubend delete, and a 180 degree thermostat. anything less then a 3.4 inch pull requires more extreme mods like a power log, headers, pcm, intercooler, ect ect
how john.. how do you take off the stock alternator pulley? id like to get a bigger aluminum pulley ZZP sells...ZZP said you need a special alternator pulley puller tool?
@JohnFromSpace It's definitely not false. I don't have a cat, I have a flipped sway bar and it does not KR at the shifts. I just changed my plugs but I haven't had a chance to scan any WOT runs, we'll see soon.
hey againn.. just wondering what mods are necessary in order to put on a 3.5 in pulley without damaging the engine. b/c all i have at this point is the cold air intake, resonator delete, and a highflow muffler. so just let me know what your thoughts are. thanks
do you know if a supercharger off a 3.8 would work on a 3.1 i have the chance to get one for free from a freind who is scraping his car after he smaked a tree with the ass end and he asked if i wanted the supercharger. i would take the whole motor but it has a knock anyway so
@andrew0901280 ithe 1990 grand prix turbo had a 3.1 and was running times the 3.8 had so u should be able to find one off that gp model or other gm cars
@JohnFromSpace What exactly do i have to do to supercharge my 1994 bonneville? Its not a ssei so i just want a little sleeper without all the excess weight of the ssei.
JohnFromSpace i see that it looks like you have a power wire from your stereo coming from your fuse conversion box next to your alternator... not really a good idea due to voltage jumps. Take this wire and move it to the back of the alternator where the positive power comes off... Its covered by the black 90 degree boot on the rear front
@ANDYX1A depending on the supporting mods... with the just a cold air intake, 180 thermostat, reprogrammed pcm, ported headers, & an intercooler, with even california's 91 octane gives you well round 350 bhp.... & thats bout $2000 in mods only... & thats before you modd the internals....
Respond to this video... with modded internals, 2.7 pulley & with 91 octane, you can get well over 450 bhp... 2.7 pulleys gives you round 18-20 psi...
10,000 RPM is the limmit with the m90's after that just go with a better root style or a PRO-charger if your going to get crazy with it. but for the street the 3.0 is more than enough. granny's car is anything but slow LOL. hey what are the best supporting modds for the 3.5?? i got the scan tool already so i can watch my KR.
When I was running a 3.5 I had Ported manifolds,3 inch Downpipe,ubend delete,resonator delete,highflow muffler,Intense-PCM,Solid motormounds,180 Degree Tstat and Fenderwill intake
I saw at most 2* of KR and thats not until the second shift at 90 MPH.
This is all on California 91 octane so if you have 93 or higher you shouldnt see KR with that set up and a 3.5. About $800 in mods and you have a high 13 second car.
those superchargers can't spin any faster than 10,000 rpm just so you know. I called eaton and asked them because I wanted to put a smaller pully on mine.
yea they said the smallest you can go is 3.0 any smaller and the bearings will wear out prematurely. I didn't put a smaller pully on mine I just ported it and got a nice boost in power. I copied the original shape of the SC discharge port and made it larger. I felt like a whole new engine mid range and top end are much better now low end power stayed the same.
Yea my car has 105k miles onit so I didn't want to make the SC spin any faster. I knew that porting the SC would also make the incoming air a little cooler I also put in spark plugs with a lower heat range to help out. I got a 96 SSEI and it will keep up with bolt on GTP coupes. my car stock has a best time of 14.7 but I don't now what it is now may be low 14's but have to find time to take it to the track again.
Thats a great stock time. MotorTrend got a 15 flat with GTP's and Regal GS's I guess they just stomped the gas and timed it once. I've see people get as low as a 14.5 off stock 3800 SC's
My car has 105,000 miles too I wouldnt worry about dropping pulley sizes. I been running smaller pulley sizes since 80,000 miles and I'm not easy on my cars. I do maintain them maticulously though.
LMAO so do I my car looks like its brand new inside and out and under the hood LOL. I just did the valve cover gaskets a couple of days ago and cleaned the engine again. I think I could have gotten a lower time but its a bitch to get these cars to hook with stock tires.
Check out the walkaround I just did of my Regal, Im like that to bud I like my cars clean. I dont even like taking people for rides because I dont want the backseat dirty
I didnt know Lesabres had the Supercharged option. As long as a car uses the 3800 Series 2 SC engine all modular systems designed for that engine will work for with that engine regardless of the car the engines dropped in.
Are there other underdrive pulleys available for the Metro? My Buicks running a Underdrive Water Pump and Alternator Pulley.
The company that makes my UD Waterpump pulley got 3 extra horsepower. No idea how much is gained with the UD Alternator pulley since it was never tested.Since my cars 3.8 liters in displacement I wonder if underdrive pulleys would help a Metro out even more.
where did you get your fuel rail i'm looking to supercharge my 98 intrigue

My car must suck ass because I have headers, intake, plugs, stat and rockers and my car still has KR with a 3.5 pulley with 93 octane.

@JDMGTP
Do you have a custom tune? If not then there's your problem right there.
JohnFromSpace 1 year ago
@JohnFromSpace yeah I have hp tuners. I have to run it pig rich above 5000 rpms or pull the timing down to 12* or it will KR.
JDMGTP 1 year ago
@JDMGTP
Could it possibly be false knock? Are you getting KR when your car shifts? The downpipe might be hitting the sway bar?
Could your cat possibly be clogged?

Did you ask them whats the smallest you can possibly drop? The smallest I think I've seen is a 2.6 or 2.7.
If you have supporting mods drop down pulley sizes. It reeally does add more boost and power you'll like it.
